parody films have lost their market for awhile now. hence why most of them go to DVD.

Vampires sucks was smart, because for how shitty it was, it cashed and BANKED real quick off that Twilight craze, and it took a couple million people to say it sucked for people to stop seeing it.

I was recently talking to a friend about this matter.
Before we had:

Any movie with Leslie Nelson basically (like you mentioned)
Police Academy Movies
Hot Shots!
Mel Brooks movies like Blazing Saddles/Spaceballs/Robin Hood:Men in tights etc

Nowadays parody/slapstick comedy is just unfunny and annoying shit.
