I gotta say , bullshit man.
Living on a safe (untill they decide otherwise and kill you instantly) farm your whole life w/ infinite supply of food and shelter and shit is better than being in the wild being slaughtered by wolves and always living in fear of misc. predators plus going hungry most of the time.
In the wild tbh an animal would have to actually track down its food , would have to live in fear of predators , etc. On a farm they live a stress free life unless the specific farm is some kind of corrupt shitheads who do literally torture them.

That is the case for many of the farm animals.

Re: Question to Vegatarians.
^What is? Safe happy farms or corrupt farms? Is there any statistics anyone could link on the ratio of fucked up to normal farms maybe?
Edit : Lifestyle the animals are given aside , point is they are going to live on a farm and die anyway. Once they are dead and packaged meat the only thing vegans are doing is making those animals lives taken in vain if they refuse to actually eat them.
Not eating the dead animals won't bring them back to life , and it won't reverse the past to give them some kind of mansion-farm luxury resort lifestyle either.

This is not the case with corporate farms, which are the vast majority of farms in the US. Farm life for animals on corporate farms are nothing but stress filled lives. It's not all green pastures and good grazing. That takes up too much land and costs too much money.
Well it doesn't really but it cuts into profits.

Re: Question to Vegatarians.
People don't raise animals to sell for slaughter and then treat them badly or not feed them enough. If the animals are unhealthy, they aren't going to sell for as much and that's the point of raising them to begin with. Maybe that kind of stuff happened 50 years ago but not now when everything revolves around the all-mighty dollar. Trust me, animals raised for meat live a pretty good life.

Re: Question to Vegatarians.
But they don't. Your average farmer that barely gets by gives his animals he sells for meat a pretty good life. The corporations that raise and sell the vast majority of meat sold at market do not give the animals a life worth living. It would cut into profits too much.
You do not want to know how these animals are kept or treated, just like you didn't want to read Sinclair's The Jungle way back when. It's not The Jungle these days, but it's not a pretty sight.

Re: Question to Vegatarians.
No, that is not every vegetarian or vegan's mentality.
Poultry, pork, beef, etc have never agreed with my system, therefore I do not eat it.
Plus, I've always been grossed out and almost sad whenever I see an assembly line of dead, hairless and headless animals in a supermarket. It grosses me out and at times it pisses me off but I couldn't care less if someone eats meat- it's a personal decision.

Perfectly said.
Corporate farms are disgusting in the way their treat their livestock. It's pretty damn pathetic.

Re: Question to Vegatarians.
I'm one of those people who really loves animals, yet eats them. I respect vegetarians and I abhor the way many animals are treated before their death. I don't believe eating animals is wrong, as I think we had evolved for the express purpose of hunting animals for food - but now things are totally different and I dislike how animals are seen as a commodity today.

Re: Question to Vegatarians.
this thread is retarded. OP, you trying to compare people who can't feel pain with vegetables? really? really? come on son.
Also never met a vegetarian who has said that its alright to kill plants because they don't feel pain.
