Hate to break it to you, but that argument is absolutely 100% invalid. Video games ARE used for education, and it IS proven effective.

I think He meant games like COD, but I watched some of the videos about WWII on the game and they were pretty informative.

I also happen to know that Thompson Machine Gun was a very effective weapon up close but not so great from long range. And I learned that the slightly harder way than reading. Ever try shooting a Nazi on a balcony with a Thompson? It's a pain in the ass. And I wouldn't know any of that unless I played WWII video games.

I learned from Red Dead Redemption that shooting people in the face in the 1800s was fun.

Also learned from Pokemon that Charmeleon evolves into Charizard and water is super-effective against fire.

HOW ELSE WOULD I HAVE KNOWN THOSE THINGS?

It's typical that Americans would argue that war is good. They'd give all the reasons and they were never really involved in the first and don't properly understand the devastation that war brought about. Typical really.

Video games are terrible for education.

Pokemon taught me grass was good vs rock. I spent hours trying to cut a rock with a leaf, but it just wouldn't work. Deception of the highest order.

It always amazes me in videogames when a character can do anything but something simple like swim, fit through bars with spaces bigger than him, axe down a locked wooden door despite having an axe, and my favorite of all...jump. Seriously, I can't remember how many games I've played where a solution could be solved by jumping over something, but the main protagonist couldn't jump.
