Re: Don't you hate it !!!!
I'm usually too busy avoiding eye contact to notice where they're looking so, no, doesn't bother me at all.
Seriously though, I rarely bother looking people in the eyes. I mean, if it's quiet enough that I can hear you, I don't need to read your lips to know what you're saying, so why look at you? Speech isn't really a visual medium. You know, on account of it being sound. And, consider this, as long as I'm looking past you instead of at you, you can be assured both of the fact that nobody is going to attack you from behind but also that you're the most interesting thing in the room. Because, if you weren't, I'd have noticed the thing that was and fucked off over there instead. It should make you happy that I'm not looking at you.
Sure, if I'm trying to read someone for whatever reason, see if they're lying to me or anything else, I'll look then, but otherwise my vision serves me better observing the surrounding area. If I'm looking at your eyes, I either think you're lying, or I think that you're thinking or feeling something that you're not telling me, so I have to look at you to work it out. Not looking into your eyes is a sign of trust.
You should be proud that people never want to look at you. Proud.
