Since Saturday, my frustrations with this so called "company" have grown like nothing else. This area may have been impacted by Hurricane Ike a few weeks ago, but, for the most part people survived and I can't think of one business that hasn't recovered or even in the worst case, doesn't have ongoing reconstruction plans. Enter the FedEx office closest to me, mostly operational with only a few drivers having not reported back in.

From the beginning, I own a Zune that was damaged and sent across the state (Texas, just to tell you far it really is) to a repair facility, pre-Ike. Not my suggestion to use FedEx, this is Microsoft's chosen carrier. Last Saturday, I found out FedEx tried to deliver it and couldn't because we weren't home. In fact, they missed us by a mere 10 minutes as my g/f was the last to leave home, and 10 minutes later they came a knocking, but left us a door hanger informing us of their effort to deliver to us. Annoyed only mildly by the closeness of it, I settled down and said "Oksy, Monday, we'll get it." I expected Monday, because the tracker at the FedEx website site said so (Earliest possible arrival date Monday, Sept 22)."


Late Monday afternoon, I was home wondering what was going on as the sun was setting and I had seen 3 FedEx vehicles pass by expecting one might come by. I called and found out, they don't deliver on Mondays despite what I had observed. Messed up to me, but if I got my property back soon, I wouldn't care. I try and make an arrangement with a female representative on the phone seeing as my work schedule might continue to not allow me to be at my home the same time as the driver could be there. She tells me even with a signature required for my item, our landlord could sign for it and hold it for us when we came home from work.

Tuesday, Nothing. I check online again. The message read "No one at home, or business closed." I'm bewildered at this point as my head is thinking back to the arrangement that, "Yeah, I'm not home, but they deliver at the same time my landlord's door is open, so there shouldn't be a problem." She says he hadn't come at all that day. I'm inclined to believe it as I still have just the one door hanger notice at that point.

Wednesday, nothing again. This is the second chance for them to do what they didn't do the day before. My g/f has to go to the E.R. (nothing serious) and while there trying to catch everyone up and make quick improvs, I call the landlord last asking if she did get it to have the maintenance man to put it in our apartment if he had the time as she would have locked her office doors by the time we came home that evening. We get home before sundown and find nothing inside. I get my g/f to bed and find the landlord outside her office, she tells me they didn't show and I'm 1 of 4 people now asking her where FedEx is. I make a pretty angry call to them asking what's up at this point. I get a name of a supervisor at the closest FedEx office a town over with this representatives own assurances to add to the ones I had from before.

Thursday, nothing...again. After work I went to that office. I told them what was going on and what I thought of it. I upset the secretary and told her outright she didn't care about people's stuff. I told her she'd probably get real upset if her property she paid a lot for wasn't coming. She went and got a manager at that point which is who I asked for when I came into that office in the first place. They each placed a call to a person that they said was the driver and urged him to deliver it today.

Get this, I pulled into another place and show them the name and address of the supposed FedEx boss's name I had gotten over the phone. I thought this nearby place was the office seeing the fences and the FedEx trucks, but they didn't know who it was and pointed out FedEx's driveway on the other side on the fencing. The FedEx people didn't even recognize the name either and claimed it to be the neighboring business's personnel I had mistaken to be the FedEx office before I had arrived. How about that, two businesses claiming to not know a name of a supposed supervisor I had gotten over the phone from one of their customer support services.

But it didn't end there on this day. I waited out front much of the afternoon occasionally refreshing my browser for an status update on my package. My day at work ended at 11 AM affording me a good opportunity for once to be here when they supposedly come and find no one at my apartment nor leave my item with the landlord as they're supposedly allowed. After 5, my computer listed another failed delivery citing this time a "weather delay and an attempted delivery." Total lie on both accounts. This area didn't have enough clouds on this day to even block the sun and I can say for damned sure, I saw not one FedEx truck near my home. I got on the phone, angrily demanded a supervisor not from the area FedEx, and told this person what for. He admitted with everything, that he's going to upper management as this all didn't add up AND that the first promise of my landlord being able to sign for my package couldn't be done as it had to be the recipient's signature and no one else's. I told him bluntly I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be another lieing FedEx voice on my phone, but to go further if he was legitimate and tell the investors, board of directors, CEOs and what not about this if he could.

As of now, I still have the one door slip notifying me on the first attempt. I should have several if this person has been here at all this week attempting to do his job. I never had this kind of grief with them before. Usually, on a rare instance in which they were bringing me something I had gotten online, no trouble. This time, they have screwed up bigtime and I think this driver is spending his personal time/company time doing things he shouldn't be getting a paycheck for.

Fortunately I've never had problems with Fedex, but they certainly FAILED here.

Everything has always been fine with me. I missed a delivery once, but you know what? That was my fault.. I wasn't around. You know, there ARE depots around, where these packages go if they miss delivery. You just go there, give your information, and get it. It's not that big of a deal... I did it once in fact.
