I'd go with Stalin though, just because of the sheer numbers of people he killed.

You know, in all honesty, if it wasn't for World War 2, the world would have continued to be in a dismal state for a long time seeing as to how many jobs they created. I'm not saying WW2 was a good thing ... but from a global economic standpoint, WW2 was a great thing.

Back on topic ....

Hitler and Stalin were both geniuses with the way they ran the military but when it came to the regular citizens, Stalin treated his worse than Hitler but my vote still goes to Hitler.

Stalin was the man behind the scorched Earth policy which helped win the war but he killed Russian citizens that went against what he said which is understandable because at that time ... you couldn't trust anybody really at that time during the war.

Hitler ... single handedly brought Germany out of the depression by going against the Treaty of Versailles and created an enormous military. When he targeted the Jewish community for being Jewish and the "most inferior race on the planet" that's where he becomes more sinister than Stalin. Unlike the people of Russia who didn't agree with Stalin and "disappeared", Hitler killed the Jewish race just to get them off of the Earth ... they never did anything to him.

6 MILLION people from one race gone in a few years > Millions of dumb people going against Stalin's authority.

Caused World War II. Stalin was pretty bad, but nothing compares to that yet.

Plus, the cinematic success of WWII movies as opposed to mid-20th century Russian history movies shows that Stalin couldn't draw compared to Hitler.
Hitler could also cut killer promos.

I don't think there is a definite reason as to why he hated them.

I remeber seeing something where Hitler thought the Jews were the cause of Germany's downfall. Also, some communist leaders were Jewish and we all know Hitler wanted to rid the world of communism. He also blamed the Jews for the Germans WWI loss.

lol first of all title should read "Hitler or Stalin, who WAS the worst/most evil Dictator" neither is around anymore...Aside from that, Hitler is the obvious choice in so many ways. First of all, Hitler had a more global impact with his atrocities making him most evil (in recent History). Second, out of the two, he also accomplished less, The USSR was way more massive than Hitler ever accomplished, and Hitler caused the destruction of his own "empire" whereas Stalin just made his bigger, So in a sense Stalin was a better leader.

Hitler was far more evil than Stalin. Had Hitler not attacked Stalin after their peace treaty they both would have taken over all of Europe and what would happen after that is up in the air.

This is turning into a great thread. Even though i disagree with the votes for Stalin,i still enjoyed reading them. I love second world war history.
