Re: Any Bad eBay Experiences?
I bought a used video game for $15 once off of Ebay. The seller had taped the game in the box for some reason and when I took the tape off, half of the labeling came off as well and it wouldn't play. The guy was nice though and refunded my money.
The seller you dealt with sounds like a moron. If you want someone to pay a specific price, than start the bidding at it.

Re: Any Bad eBay Experiences?
I've also as well never had any problems with eBay.
I don't use it that often and maybe only purchase 3-5 things a year. I've purchased about maybe 5 WWF VHS's, an MLB All Star Program, a computer game, and then my most expensive purchase was my Blackberry Pearl.
I was told I was going to have to buy a phone that I originally had at retail price (it was $140 for it) so I opted to instead bid on eBay for an Unlocked Pearl. I got it for $180 with shipping, etc. so it really wasn't that bad. I've had it for nearly six months now and it works fine. It was used before and the only thing wrong now is that I've dropped it and of course it has some scratches now.

Re: Any Bad eBay Experiences?
So far I haven't had a bad experience selling or buying. I have had to wait a little longer than I expected for shipment or payment, but that isn't so bad.
The worst thing that has happened to me was I was driving up the price of an autographed KISS T-shirt my brother was selling, and ended up with the highest bid. I ended up selling it for like $20 more a couple of months later. So not too bad.

Re: Any Bad eBay Experiences?
Purchased UFC Throwdown for PS2 over two weeks ago and still have yet to receive the game. I sent the owner multiple emails pertaining to the issue and she has done fuck all as far as a reply is concerned. And this is just of recent time.

Re: Any Bad eBay Experiences?
Tried selling a humbucker, took me 4 attempts to sell it because of dumbass foreign buyers who never pay.
On 2 of the occasions i put "UK Only" because i was getting pissed off and some ass from Poland still tried to buy it, eventually i sold it to some dude in Plymouth for twice the amount the first time it sold.

Fucking asshole! I sent an email back saying I bid $71 and was paying $71. That was a few hours ago and I haven't heard back. I have reported him and he is no longer a registered user and all his items have been taken down.
Sure, he'll probably make another account but I’ll keep looking for the same phone and if I find him again I'll report him again.
Another user bid for an X-Box at $311 and was told they seller wouldn't accept less than $350.
Now I'm back to square one. I didn't want to pay $180 for a brand new one from the shop so I'll keep trying on eBay. This is the only bad experience I've had thus far.
Anyone else got any eBay horror stories?

What he (seller) should've done was set up a reserve price. He is obliged to sell it to you whatever the cost was. It's a good thing you reported it!

Re: Any Bad eBay Experiences?
Ebay makes me laugh they do absoloutly nothing in the event of either a no pay or wrongly advertised stuff. The biggest thing people lie about is the condition of a product and my advice is never buy new products on there because about 40% of the time they turn out to be used. 90% of people of people on there are fine but just be careful. The biggest problem on ebay by far though is people bidding on their own items from other accounts to boost up the price on them, thats why its so hard to get a bargain than it used to be 4/5 years ago.

Re: Any Bad eBay Experiences?
I had one problem. I was going to buy Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 2 and right before I bidded I notice the small print it said something like this "Not all cds of here, only disc 1 and 4." I was like WTF and I did not bid, lol.

Re: Any Bad eBay Experiences?
It's because of things like this that I don't use ebay. I think only personalized items sell well and for a bargain.
Technology items are always a gamble, and you might end up paying more once shipping is added.
