Trick or Treating in Australia

I honestly don't understand why people trick or treat over here. It's not like we really celebrate haloween or however you spell it over here, so what is the point of going around to houses begging for chocolates?

No one even does stuff when you turn them down, it's not like they egg your house or TP it or anything, so is there really any point? Now if I lived in America then sure, I could understand it, but the damn kids are so persistent over here. I even put up a sign thing on my door saying that there will be no lollies here as we don't celebrate haloween and yet kids STILL knock on the door asking for stuff, it's ridiculous.

As you can probably tell it's one of my pet hates.

Re: Trick or Treating in Australia

Have we become that Americanised that Haloween is more celebrated than Australia day by everyone? I just think that it's a little stupid.

Re: Trick or Treating in Australia

I've got my fucking eggs ready...

"The Memory Will Never Die" - Default

"I whisper in your ear
The words you wan't to hear
You feel the wind and it reminds you
It happens everytime
You stop and close your eyes
You can't deny what lives inside you
Well I know it's hard to see
What is meant to be
When yesterday is so far behind you

Deep inside your soul knows I'm always there

You made me believe the day you surrender to me
The memory will never die
The love that you gave
I'll never throw it away
The memory will never die."

Re: Trick or Treating in Australia

Kids barely trick or treat here anymore. Parents are afraid that there kids are gonna get raped or something. They might still do it in other parts of the US though.

Quote:
Evey: Who are you?
V: Who? Who is but the form following the function of "what", and what I am is a man in a mask.
Evey: Well I can see that.
V: Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation, I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is.
Evey: Oh...right.
V: But on this most auspicious of nights, permit me then, in lieu of the more commonplace sobriquet, to suggest the character of this dramatic personae.

Re: Trick or Treating in Australia

Here in Luxembourg, we don't celebrate Halloween either but every damn year, little kids knock on my door trying to get some candy and it makes me sick, it's kinda pathetic to beg others for candy if you ask me...

Re: Trick or Treating in Australia

I'm totally the same, I hate it and never ever been Trick or Treating.

I just kick the soccer ball outside with my friends anf if anyone walks up our driveway i just tell them to piss off.

What really gives me the shits is when someone turns up on your doorstep with no costume or anything or is in their school uniforn and ask for lollies i just slam the door.
