I belive in Jesus, I belive in God.
I once heard a song by Waylon Jennings called "I Do Belive". Which puts it in perspective.
I Do Belive - Waylon Jennings (c) 1995
In my own way I'm a believer,
In my own way right or wrong,
I don't talk to much about it,
It's something I keep working on,
I don't have to much to build on,
Just faith thats never been that strong.
Theres a man up in that buliding,
He's a holy man they say,
He keeps talking about tomorrow,
While I keep struggling with today,
He preaches hell, fire and brimstone,
And heaven seems so far away.
I do belive in a higer power,
One that loves us one and all,
Not someone to solve my problems,
Or to catch me when I fall,
He gave us all a mind to think with,
And to know what's right or wrong,
He is that inner spirt,
That keeps us strong.
In my own way I'm a believer,
But not in voices I can't here,
I belive in a loving father,
One I never have to fear,
That I should live life at it's fullest,
Just so long as I am here.
I think that ol'Waylon summed up what I believe. I would have typed something long but the song sums it up.

Sorry OZ, we are not attacking, we are stating facts. The Catholic Chruch has their hands in everything. There are towns here in Australia that are owned by the Catholic Church. They own shopping centres as well. How did they get the money for that? Prayed for a cheque.
You are fine with people for not believing, but tell them they are wrong for not believing? Nice contradiction. No-one here is looking at anyone differently for having any sort of faith, and no-one should either. As I said, my in-laws are Catholics, I obviously know a lot more than you think. I am subjected to their faith on a regular basis.

The Big Bang theory is a lot more conceivable than some spirit or force producing the world from scratch. I can't explain how the compounds were created but it's just as far fetched to think that "God" arrived out of nowhere and started sprinkling trees and animals everywhere.
Put it into perspect, you have this huge universe, including potentially billions of planets and galaxys. Surely Earth can't be the only habital place in that expanse. Who's to say there isn't another human-like race on the edge of the universe that knows all the answers to questions such as how Earth was formed. Who's to say it wasn't them that created us with technology billions of years ahead of our own? There may not be a God, we may just be the product of some ruined experiment from another species. Obviously that wouldn't explain how the actual compounds to create a universe in the first place were formed but it could be passed off as the way that we as humans ended up here. It seems to me that saying there's an all powerful God controlling everything is just taking the easy way out. We are just a tiny fraction of the universe and our beliefs are what we want them to be. It's quite easy to convince yourself something if you keep saying it to yourself long enough and if no one denies it.
Do you really think that a planet similar to ours on the other side of the universe would have the same beliefs? Once again, we can't even prove that there are such planets. I'm just trying to make a point that we actually know hardly anything about whats outside our own solar system. We only have our own beliefs and theories to go by and considering the power of the word of mouth, it would be very easy for an intelligent dedicated group of people to completely make up the bible due to our own uncertainty as to what and who we are. There have been elaborate hoaxes before, who's to say the Bible isn't the most calculated hoax of them all? Nothing, but most will decide to believe what they read because they can't find any other solution. People are easy to manipulate - just look at modern day society. The easiest way to control people is to make them believe something.
Oh and Nitemare, if God created everything, why did he create Satan? (unless i'm missing a large chunk in the story of how Satan was formed) It's a never ending cycle of possibilities.

Satan was Gods favourite angel, he tried to create his own heaven and got his ass locked in hell for blasphemy.

Wrong, Lucifer was bannished from Heaven. Not locked in hell. He created Hell himself. He was not God's favorite angel, he was an Arch Angel, one of the top guys. He was cast out of heaven. Hence why he is known as "The Fallen Angel" because he fell from grace.

That's exactly the way I feel. For just over 17 years I did believe, but just never went to church. But since around July/August it took just about 4 days to have all of it diminish little by little.
I'm happy people believe in God and everything that comes with it, and I don't have a problem with anyone saying it's bullshit and Science is the answer because I'm stuck in the middle until something definitively proves one of the two to be true. Becuase until then both are just theories to me...
I wish I could have come up with something a whole lot more readable than that, but I don't feel strongly enough to go into it in depth...

Sort of strange...some of you deny the Big Bang Theory, saying it's too difficult to believe that a Big Bang created planets out of nowhere with not much explanation. But yet you'll believe in the Bible, which also seemingly appeared out of nowhere with not much explanation. Not that I even believe in the Big Bang Theory. I couldn't really care how we were all created. I just care that I'm alive and well, and need to get on with life.
And I'd think that we evolved from Apes or whatever. Theres Apes that are so close to humans, they only have one different thing in their DNA than us.
