Re: Repetitive uninspired IWC bashing
Nice post, and i truly agree. We're all part of the IWC, whether we like it or not.

Re: Repetitive uninspired IWC bashing
Yes, we're all part of the IWC because we all discuss wrestling on the internet. I love the people who cop out and always say "Oh well, the IWC will never be happy" instead of making a point. If you want to change the opinion of this so called IWC, make your opinion. I also love the people who like certain wrestlers just because the IWC hates them or if they hate a certain wrestler, they're part of this IWC. Here's a thought, enjoy who you want to enjoy and form your own opinions.
Now there might be more than 1 side to the IWC and if that's the case, come up with a new name for them. Call them the NIWC (Negative Internet Wrestling Community) to narrow it down.
Finally, my friends at BTR put it best tonight when they stated that "Wrestling Fans Bitch". The sooner everyone accepts that, the sooner you can move on with your life.

Re: Repetitive uninspired IWC bashing
Oh god, not another IWC bashing thread. The IWC sucks. This is why I'm not a part of the IWC.
...But it made you think, didn't it?

Re: Repetitive uninspired IWC bashing
A little known fact is that of all the sports in the world (soccer, hockey, football, baseball, MMA, boxing) that wrestling fans bitch the most. They come together on the intraweb to do said bitching. Hell even I bitch some times. All the times

This right here is the amusing irony of the whole situation: the popular thing to do is to babble about how "the IWC sucks". That's the trend, that's what the mindless sheep are doing on this message board. The popular crowd-following thing to do is to derail every thread posted on the board with the same idiotic drivel about this mythical IWC.
As it stands the vast majority of dead-weight posts come from people randomly lashing out at what they percieve to be the IWC lurking in every thread. It's getting to the point now where you could probably find some reference to the IWC in literally every thread more than a page long on this forum.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest something shocking: the IWC as many on these boards percieve it does not exist. There isn't a massive conspiracy lurking in the darkest corners of the internet bashing everything the WWE does. There isn't a mindless throng of intarweb zombies who hate John Cena because it's the trendy thing to do. While a couple individuals who simply follow the crowd as sheep do exist, at least in my experience for the most part the posters here actually pretty accurately reflect the responses seen in arenas and in the homes of viewers.
All of that said I was really just largely blowing off some steam with this post (as the forum title would suggest), I don't expect it to make a bit of difference. I just wish posters could cut down a little on the blind random hate in every thread on the board and quit justifying it by branding anything they disagree with an "IWC" position.
In an amusing sort of way it almost reminds me of the fear of communism during the cold war, or the witch trials of last century. Anyone you disagree with can be branded a commie/witch/IWC and convicted/dismissed without any real evidence. Either take the time to refute the point the poster is making, or don't waste bandwidth posting childish flames. It's growing tiresome having to wade thru ten "ZOMG j00 r teh IWC" posts to get to something readable.

I take it you didn't check any boards/talk to any fans when England was eliminated in downright criminal fashion from the World Cup? :P Wrestling fans bitch and moan a fair bit, but it seems excessive to single them out as the worst amongst the group listed. I suppose you could justify the statement in that the WWE offers year round content as opposed to other sports leagues who only function throughout a smaller part of the year, but sports fans love to complain about the refs. :P
That said, there's nothing wrong with expressing frustration with the product, it's actually a good thing. I've mentioned it a few times, but it means people actually care about the product. You don't get frustrated with and vent about something you don't care about. For the most part wrestling fans get frustrated with the way certain performers/storylines/etc are handled because they care so much about the product, fans in the truest sense of the word.

Theres two sides to the IWC....
The Cool Good Quality Side
Which is the side that gives good quality in their disucussions and debates and talks about wrestling in a respectable sense. Alot of people will claim to be on this side, but its easy to tell whos on this side and whos on the other.
The Smarky Smarkish Smarks Side
This is the side that will hate anything WWE because either its the popular thing to do and just can't form their own opinion or just sound and act like they know everything about pro wrestling. This is the side that just bashes and bitches to no end and alot of the times don't give out logical reasons to back their opinions up.
So basically the reason why some people rant against IWC like you mentioned, is because of the bad side of the IWC, not the entire IWC.

Hey Heel, which side am i on???
I hate on wwe ppvs and that sometimes, but only when they deserve it. In your book though, is it ok to hate on anything, as long as you back it up with your own opinion

I can't hate anything. Wrestling in general is entertaining. You have to take the good with the bad.
Besides, if the WWE caters to the IWC, you will probably see CM Punk and Charlie Haas as World Champions, with John Cena and Randy Orton being released. Not something that I would like.

That would make me post in the "have you ever had your heart broken" thread again. seriously ~_~
As for the thread topic, I'm not going to lie, I used to be one of those anti-IWC people. Even during the merge. Nowadays, I just give my two cents on things and shut up. And I try not to use any Anti-IWC references. It is hard to change your ways just like that, but hey, atleast I try.
