Stone Cold Steve Austin

Ok, right off the bat I'm going to say that I was once a big fan of "The Texas Rattlesnake". I found him so entertaining. Then all of a sudden Austin transitioned from the ass-kicking, rule-breaking, bad attitude having, SOB into the comic releif of WWE. While some people may have liked watching Stone Cold sing songs, wear a badge, drive around on an ATV, and go off on his drawn out "WHAT?!" promos...I felt that it took away from the quality that made me love him as a kid. Nonetheless there are three things to consider as far as why I started to dislike Stone Cold.

1) My standards for favorites was set higher, and became more based on athletic ability and actual wrestling.

2) His character took a turn and made him into WWE's comic releif.

The third thing to consider is something that Stone Cold fans have either chosen to forget, don't care about, or don't even know about. Nonetheless it's widely known that Steve Williams (Steve Austin) was found guilty on charges of domestic assault. I've gotten into this discussion with people before and one of the main arguments I've heard is, "Well I'm still going to like him because what he did out of the ring doesn't change that I like him as an entertainer." and I guess that's fine if that's the way you want to justify it. I just don't understand how so many people have been able to look past the fact that not once, but TWICE this man has been in situations of domestic violence (Once with Debra and once with his girlfriend after Debra). I can't respect a man like that, let alone idolize him. I can understand if you can enjoy his work in the wrestling world, but for those that still idolize him...I just don't get it.

Re: Stone Cold Steve Austin

I see your point but the reason SCSA was turned into a comic relief was mayber because:
1.He was funny
2.WWE's C-Team Screwed him up
3.They wanted SCSA to get more fresh because The Rattlesnake was gettin old.
Also I agree with you on the assult thing.Thats not cool but I still like him but not as much.

Re: Stone Cold Steve Austin

I don't let any entertainer's personal life affect my opinion on their professional life.

Stone Cold needed to be fresh as he was dying out with the fans as the 'old' Stone Cold.

Re: Stone Cold Steve Austin

The fact that he's somewhat just like the character he portrays in real life too makes his gimmick all the more interesting.Stone Cold as a 'sheriff' and GM was not at all entertaining for me too,but I will always remember the peak of his career. He was a great entertainer. But I agree that he was not exactly one of the best where athletic abilities are concerned.

THE DESTRUCTION OF TRIPURA - THE THREE CITIES OF MAYA
"--The Year became his bow; Kaala Raathri the Death-Night which is Rudra's shadow, became the indestructible bowstring of that bow. Vishnu, Agni and Soma became the arrow. The universe is said to consist of Agni and Soma. The universe is similarly said to consist of Vishnu. Vishnu is, again, the Soul of the holy Bhava (Rudra) of immeasurable energy. And due to this the touch of that bow-string became unbearable to the Asuras. Sankara cast on that arrow his own irresistible fire of anger, that which was born of wrath of Bhrigu and Angirasa. Thus he is called Nila Rohita (Blue-Red). And that terrible deity, Rudra, robed in skins, looking like 10,000 Suns, and shrouded by the fire of superabundant energy, blazed up with splendour--".

I never liked Austin UNTIL he became WWE's comic relief.

Re: Stone Cold Steve Austin

stone cold has made a line that stuck in the heads of wrestling fans forever. now let's see aj styles or anyone from tna do that. you're just angry at the fact that stone cold could get over with the slightest thing while tna wrestlers would never get over in the wwe.
