Oh and btw Frankazoid, try using correct grammar/spelling and punctuation in your posts. I.E. Don’t type ‘ment’ type meant. (If that’s hard to do then try using a program such as MSWORD to check your posts before you submit them).

"Mr" doesn't need a full stop. It's another one of those things where the convention has changed over time.
"Offence" is the English English spelling, rather than the US English one. The same applies to "defence".
Just as a point of interest, the song you check at the end of your post contains no irony in it at all. None of the events are ironic, merely unfortunate.
Lastly, your posts are a sod to quote if you only want to quote bits of it. |

The Gregg Reference Manual
Abbreviate the following titles before names:
Mrs., Mr., Ms., Prof., Dr., Gen., Rep., Sen., St. (for Saint)
{These are standard abbreviations, with periods.}
Notice that Miss is not an abbreviation, so we don't put a period after it.
Ms. is not an abbreviation, either, but we do use a period after it — probably to keep it consistent with Mr. and Mrs.
