Re: 3 days away till our future is decided
At this current moment, everyone is leaning closer toward republican because they fear terrorism (which is exactly the point) and seem to think that the president they choose has something to do with how well protected they are. There's no way you can prevent a terrorist attack unless you know all the specifics of it, which is impossible because if they had any intelligence close enough to al Qaida to get that much information, we'd have bin Laden by now. The only function of the president is to fuck us over when we want something and he really has virtually no connection to the success or failure of the country. I was about to go into the marines because I wanted to go to Afghanistan, but once I started hearing talks of Iraq and the very little proof they had to back up a war against them, I said I wasn't going into a war without a cause, and getting rid of Saddam was not a compelling enough reason. I just saw it as Bush trying to raise his approval rating by finishing what his dad started. If we were to go to war with Iran, on the other hand, I would be gung-ho because Iran has been proved to have ties to bin Laden and has WMDs and the means to get them here. I figure after all this shit is over I will go into the military cause we'll either be in Iran or North Korea, both of which I'd like to get some action. Sounds like fun to me.
And btw, that's not integrity if they're just going by what they heard; that's ignorance.
