Because of Punk Vince started to take a closer look and actually understood Indie guys could make a good impact in the WWE.

Also, I am all for anyone who disagrees with me and feel free to tear my opinion apart. I just think its funny how choke2death needs to call people names he disagrees with.

I also seem to notice that choke2death seems to have a problem with a ton of people on this board, he is always calling people names with posters his disagrees with.

I dont understand why someones opinion, no matter how much people disagree with, would make someone so angry to call those posters names, and even feel the need to complain about all those posters in different threads.

If a message board pissed me off that much, I would just stop posting. I never in my life have seen one poster, complain about so many other people.

If he hates those posters opinions so much, I don't sees why he doesn't use the ignore button.
What's odd is that I'm apparently not one of them.

I think this pic is better. Did you miss the part where CM Punk came out?

"Delusional Punk mark". You say that like all Punk marks are delusional. Get your head out your ass, please.

I'm not going to enter this Punk/Rock conversation, but what I will say is that birthday_massacre does not deserve the hate he gets. Unlike some of you that feel the need to enter every single fucking thread about a guy you supposedly hate to spew bullshit about how he isn't a star, never was a draw, etc, he browses the forum and tries to offer his perspective like on is supposed to, instead of posting stupid shit like "Punk marks are the worst!!1111!11! Thayr all 12 yeers old!11111!!!11! lel" in this section and repeatedly posting preposterous statements in threads in the WWE section. And this isn't a shot at all of you, I like a good few of you, but I don't get it.

Also, I would say that most people's opinion's are not any more "valid" than his, on average. He, just like some other posters, is actually a good poster often and tries to add to conversation instead of derailing it.

What's with the large amount of terrible 2014 posters so far that obviously fall into Woat category?

Birthday Massacre does have a good point. The Rock was very popular, one of the biggest stars in recent WWE history, sold more merchandise than Punk, had more fans, had more success, made more money for both himself & the WWE etc.

But when it comes to 'impact,' did the Rock's popularity change anything in the WWE? Were there more black or Samoan world champions after him? No. After CM Punk, more ROH/indy guys have come into the WWE and become big stars than ever before (Claudio Castagnoli, Tyler Black, Jon Moxley, Sami Callihan, Bryan Danielson, Brodie Lee, etc.).

Shawn Michaels is 6' 1" and Chris Jericho is 6', were they shorter when they won the world title or something?

Jericho wore lifts on his boots, he was really like 5'10 or 5;11 HBKs wrestling height is 6'1 but he is really 5'10-5'11 at least according to celeb heights website.

And thanks for getting my point about the Punks impact, I kept trying to say it wasn't about popularity, or how much money they made.

I hear ya on Shawn Michaels, I do think Jericho definitely contributed a lot too, hell if there was one name in particular that I think greatly impacted the WWE with giving smaller guy's a shot, it would have to be Eric Bischoff. He would dedicate *huge* amounts of time to the cruiserweights, at times when it was unheard of in the WWE. It gave a lot of those guys a chance to make a name for themselves.

Yeah Bischoff had the biggest impact on that for sure, he put the cruiserweight division and the lucha's in the spotlight, instead of burying them all .

CM Punk is so great he travelled back in time and changed the way Vince McMahon views talent and made him sign Jericho, Benoit and Malenko
