As you may know, MASADA tore his meniscus at a CZW show a few weeks back. As of right now he's still working, but it will require surgery and extensive rehab. A fundraiser has been set up to help cover the costs.

This is a rather large community and compared to how many of us there are this is a relatively small amount of money. Whether you like MASADA or deathmatch wrestling is basically irrelevant. This could happen to any indie wrestler at any time, and unless they have a shoot job with good benefits they're completely screwed. Well, in the US they are. But let's not get into political BS here.

I just hate the fact that MASADA has to take it on his own to raise money.

He's been carrying CZW for quite some time now. If DJ was a good man, he'd hold a benefit show for MASADA.

Stories like this are turning me off from indie wrestling.

There's only so much DJ can realistically do for him if he needs surgery. That stuff is insanely expensive to have done and if DJ had the cash to pay for it all without putting his company out of business I would be shocked.

At best I can see DJ paying him his regular pay for every CZW show they run while he's out. That wouldn't surprise me at all because I've heard that DJ takes care of his guys when they get hurt on his shows.

Dustin Rayz who broke his femur his first show for CZW got 7 months pay in advance and a flight home all from DJ.

Sad to hear this as Masada's one of my favorites on the independents. But guess DJ will do the same thing to him than he did for Rayz.
