Re: Davey Richards potentially going to "Connecticut"

For a promotion that is billed as if its style is so cookie-cutter and limiting, they really do have a very diverse talent pool that puts out great matches in droves.

If anything, "WWE style" will help Davey not stray into the realms of overkill as he is so prone to and enhance the talent he actually does have.

Agree with rah that if he goes there it can only improve him as a wrestler. Same with Callihan.

Why WWE............ :/.. I always wanted to see him with TNA.

EDIT: Before anyone quotes me to tell me how WWE > TNA, I already understand why one would prefer WWE. I'm just stating my disappointment.

Anyway I'm really happy for Davey and to echo Rah's and Bub's thoughts that the WWE style will benefit him greatly. Only fear is his size. He's gonna look like an angry midget compared to half the WWE roster.

Re: Davey Richards potentially going to "Connecticut"

Agree with Rah, I think WWE training could actually help him out quite a lot, his biggest problem like most indy stars is a lack of psychology, his matches, the finishes especially can be somewhat illogical. No doubt he's got some great wrestling skills and immense athleticism, although I do have doubt about his professionalism both from stories and first hand experience of him at my local promotion here in England.

Re: Davey Richards potentially going to "Connecticut"

I would be shocked if Davey signed with WWE...based on things he has said in his shoot interviews I do not think he has any interest in going there.

Re: Davey Richards potentially going to "Connecticut"

Call me a contrarian, but I kind of agree with zkorejo.

I, honestly, see greater potential for him in TNA than WWE (noting what I think he brings to the table) but there is no question WWE could do more for him in enhancing his positives. The added incentive of lucrative pay, though, means he could retire earlier and be able to afford his paramedic/whatever his dream was course.

Stick him with the newly signed Mascarita Dorada and he'll look like Khali. I actually couldn't believe, for a second, that he was 5'8" upon reading his bio. In his defence, though, his entire intensity/badass demeanour will be a major plus for most who are against small wrestlers in being able to suspend their disbelief.

WWE is taking everyone recently. Imagine a future WWE roster including Bryan, Punk, Hero, Claudio, Ambrose, Rollins, PAC, Generico, Davey and even Brodie Lee. That's not to mention all the talented guys that weren't brought up in the indies to the extent that these guys were.

By the way, what a damn shame that Generico was stripped of his gimmick. Without it, sadly, he's not the same.

That's not fair - we haven't seen him on the main roster or enough of his new gimmick to make a real desicion.

Punk, Morishima Takeshi, KENTA, Samoa Joe, Misawa, Kobashi, Dynamite, Liger
