That is why it's called organized crime.

Re: ROH 05/11/13 - Belle Vernon, PA

Even as stale as they are, The Briscoes are still one of the most recognizable acts ROH has so I don't see them breaking up for maybe a two month feud that while might be a good match I can't see main eventing an IPPV without a great undercard. Adding Mark to SCUM would be uninspired, would take away from Mark's turn which would ruin it in the first place plus they're already setting up SCUM's miserable failure for a world title shot. And after that you have Mark Briscoe floating around doing nothing because he's not going away while Jay's still wrestling.

Luckily, we won't be getting a singles Mark Briscoe push anytime soon. Or ever. Stick him in random tags during the time Jay is World Champion to avoid any other foreseeable messes when the guy is all alone in the ring.

Re: ROH 05/11/13 - Belle Vernon, PA

Matt's beating Jay sooner rather than later anyway. Jay and Mark main eventing an iPPV for the title serves it's purpose. Even if they wanted to split them I doubt they'd go for it and there's much more money in them as the poster team of the company with all their legacy rather than being midcard singles guys feuding with each other. Plus you like to think they will have learned from the last time they tried to turn them heel.

And there aren't any "money" matches in this company right now. They're in a rut. Certain main events might do better than others but nothing they do is gonna return a significant difference for them. They've got a core group of fans now who'll continue to buy their shows regardless and they've missed the window to capitalise on really increasing that group. They've shunned a lot of old fans out now, lost a lot of potential new fans with the feed issues and there isn't a draw at Indy level like there used to be in Joe or Punk or Danielson that can come to an Indy show and really change business for that show. The last genuine money main event match they had was Richards/Edwards and that was their peak.

What about Steen/Richards from 2012?

Re: ROH 05/11/13 - Belle Vernon, PA

Correct me if I'm wrong but BITW 2011 and Final Battle 2011 were their highest grossing shows right? By time they got to Steen/Richards the hype around the promotion was falling flat. Has anyone got iPPV buys for all of their iPPVs btw please?

Re: ROH 05/11/13 - Belle Vernon, PA

Since Final Battle?

10th Anniversary - 2,000 (2th highest with Final Battle, mostly because it was in a cheaper price)
SITS - IIRC it was similar to last year WM-Weekend iPPVs, around 1750
Border Wars - 1,500, but it was after the SITS diestster and they had the biggest atteadance in Canada's history and sell-out arena
BITW - Almost everyone got this for free
Boiling Point - 800-900, filler iPPV that was announced like three weeks before it was aired (and it was on the same day of UFC 150)
DBD - ??
GBH - ROH said the iPPV draw 1,500 buys
Final Battle 2012 - 2,000 (With Final Battle 2011 and 10th show)

So overall it's

1. BITW 11
2. Final Battle 2011/10th show/Final Battle 2012

For me? Since 08 when they randomly won the titles from AOTF while Mark had a wrist injury which eventually led to them dropping them back to AOTF. Plus generally he's not a good singles guy unless his opponent is, and Taven's definitely not a guy that can do a carry job to say the least.

ACH vs. Elgin from AIW's Conspiracy Theory got generally good reviews so it should be a decent match.
