And The New NWA Heavyweight Champion is...
At an NWA DAWG event in Clayton, New Jersey, Tokyo Monster Kahagas pinned Damien Wayne to become the new NWA World Heavyweight champion...
Kahagas was a last minute entrant in an eight-man elimination match for the vacated title with Chance Prophet, Justin "The Gift" Kincaid, Lance Erikson, Anthony Nese, "Greek God" Papadon, "Phat Daddy" Biggie Biggs, Lance Anoa'i and Wayne. Wayne and Prophet were the only ones left in the ring, and then Kahagas' manager Dontay Brown came out with Kahagas (the current National Heavyweight Champion). He said he spoke with NWA President R. Bruce Tharpe and told Head Official Fred Richards that Tharpe had approved Kahagas' entry in to the match. Richards then spoke with Tharpe and confirmed the news and allowed him to enter the match. Wayne then surprised Prophet with a piledriver and got a three count. Then Kahagas finished off Wayne with a "TMD" (Tokyo Monster Driver). Credit: PWInsider I don't know about you guys but I think I speak for a lot of people when I say Who? Never heard of Kahagas and I looked him up and he looks like a 3rd rate Great Muta Wannabe. |

Why was the belt vacated, did Pearce retire?

Re: And The New NWA Heavyweight Champion is...
They actually had some options on the table to at least make it look like they wanted to keep the NWA even somewhat relevant. Then they pull this with a wrestler I'm not sure if anyone really knows and they have him lose in a sort of bullshit fashion. So I can agree with 1 of the recent World Title changes the NWA has done recently and that's Chase Owens. Every other they have done seems like shit balls

Kahagas is awesome, I hope he comes back to TCW one day.
I'm glad the NWA is trying to build their brand on their own talents. Why put the title on a guy that would be hard to book when needed, they not trying to draw tv ratings. |

Meh

Re: And The New NWA Heavyweight Champion is...
An NWA without Pearce or Cabana is an irrelevant National Wrestling Alliance.

Re: And The New NWA Heavyweight Champion is...
Hm I was hoping Tony Nese would win it.

Re: And The New NWA Heavyweight Champion is...
I was hoping Nese win it too lol, I definitely would've went with Chase Owens as my main guy he deserves so much more recognition. Stupid for them the book the title match on a cluster like that; I like Kahagas but they could've went with a more marketable and identifiable talent.
I'll just see how this plays out; hopefully he can run with it and not have a forgettable reign like The Sheik did. |
