^ They have large audience (as they should).

Oh, and since I'm here, I'll echo most everyone else - likely DGUSA/EVOLVE. Not that I think ROH is all that likely to disappear soon.

Re: If ROH Goes Under What Promotion Will Be The New Number 3?

DGUSA wouldn't jump on #3, because there is no DGUSA without the Japs, therefore their schedule will always remain pretty much the same.

The correct answer is EVOLVE. If ROH goes under, there's a shitload of talent that would be signed by Gabe: Roddy, Edwards, Bennett, Elgin, DemBoys, Steen, Jacobs, Cole, O'Reilly, etc. Which would mean more recognition and more shows, naturally. CZW would be damn close too.

Re: If ROH Goes Under What Promotion Will Be The New Number 3?

NJPW is the best promotion in the world right now, easily, & no one is close. I don't really care about the financial side of things or how many 3rd world hellholes can watch wrestling. WWE is the drizzling shits. TNA is a joke. Why should I give a fuck if they can be watched in fuckin' Qatar? It doesn't make their show any better.

If ROH died, first thing I would do is probably dance. Then I would go about doing the same thing I always do, watching New Japan, fast-forwarding through RAW, laughing at TNA & remembering old school days fondly.

NWA Hollywood (or whatever it's being called now). They actually have TV, unlike Evolve, DGUSA, etc.

ROH isn't the third biggest wrestling promotion in the world. That's a laughable statement.

Wait, who ever insinuated that? OP asked who would take RoH's place as the "third promotion" - a term mostly known to denote RoH behind WWE and TNA. I do believe it's a given that when that's said you mean America.

Agreed that's what I mean't. Also I think Extreme Rising, TCW, RESISTANCEPro, and CHIKARA could fill that spot. They are all big enough contenders.

Re: If ROH Goes Under What Promotion Will Be The New Number 3?

ROH isn't a real no.3 like ECW was in the 90s. And TNA isn't a real no.2.

If ROH dies than there won't be semi-real no.3 like ROH again. There is nothing out there on the indy scene that is all around as serious and ambitious as ROH.

Re: If ROH Goes Under What Promotion Will Be The New Number 3?

The OP is meaning this from a "mainstream"/TV standpoint. ROH has TV as does WWE & TNA so by default it is ranked at #3 by some people.

To answer the question, well it's no different than what others have said: Chikara or EVOLVE. CZW is still probably too "violent" at their core to become a more mainstream friendly company. (not my views. simply pointing out the probables) I'd say Chikara has the lead over EVOLVE, but perhaps that's simply preference.

And yes, from a World-Wide standpoint, NJPW would be second behind WWE.

Re: If ROH Goes Under What Promotion Will Be The New Number 3?

New Japan is larger than TNA. NJPW just ran a PPV with 50 000+ Internet buys, and that's obviously not counting an undisclosed amount of regular TV PPV buys. TNA gets less than 10 000 buys usually. NJPW draw strong crowds in every large city they go to and do not have a free tourist audience. They have five or six TV deals and are becoming popular in the mainstream again. The January Tokyo Dome show is already sold out in the expensive seating areas. That show is their biggest show of the year and based off numbers from their first two ippvs, the spreading knowledge of the iPPV setup and the immense visibility of the annual Wrestle Kingdom show, they could potentially come close to rivalling lesser WWE PPV buy numbers at the 100000 buy range. They do broadcast worldwide now via iPPV. The best part - they're at the beginning of an upswing in terms of popularity so everything is only going to get bigger. They are the second biggest promotion in the world. To top it all off, they're the best promotion in the world by many measures. So yeah.
