It's a messy one to be sure, but here's what I know....
The story from the Richards vs. Gallagher match is that Gallagher stiffed Davey with a headbutt, so Richards fired back with a kick that knocked him out. Davey then pinned him to take the FSW title. This was reported as being unplanned, but who knows - it does have the whiff of a smark-baiting angle.
A rematch was advertised for October 5th, but a couple of days before the event, Future Shock announced that Richards wouldn't be appearing. Fans were pissed off & some refunds were given. The official story is that FSW paid for a flight, which Davey refused to board unless his fee was doubled. This could be horsehit - maybe he had to cancel for other reasons or just plain couldn't be arsed. The whole thing could be Future Shock trying to turn a legit letdown into an angle with the hope of recouping a few quid down the line.
