Better New Japan Show: June 16th or October 8th
I get why the 10/8 show is getting more attention after Dave gave the main event the praise he has and called it show of the year and the fact it was the first international iPPV but fuck me everyone who watched that show because of Dave's praise needs to get all over the June 16th show straight away.
For those who have watched both super events, is there anyone who thinks the 10/8 show was indeed actually show of the year or better than June 16.

Dominion was better. Bigger moment (Kishin F'N Liger) and overall had better matches. But KOPW is pretty damn close.

June 16th (DOMINION) is easily my show of the year. Fun Jr's opener, great Liger match and moment, really good Jr's title match, very fun heavy tag match, awesome special tag match, MiSu/Makabe and the amazing main event all delivered.

Dominion 6.16. But not by much, gotta say. KOPW had SHIBATA and SAKURABA.
Btw, for those who care, Meltezr rated Okada/Tana from Dominion ****3/4. For once, I agree with the shithead.

I think Okada/Tanahashi Dominion was better than the Suzuki match, but it wasn't far off.

The highs of Dominion are greater but KOPW is consistent quality throughout (no matches under three stars, six at ***3/4 or higher for me personally and that's crazy) so I'll pick KOPW based on that. The way it was booked match to match made it so fluid and enjoyable as well. I didn't like Tanahashi/Okada II as much as their first match or either Suzuki match so there's that too. Both shows were amazing but I'll take KOPW personally.

Honestly, I kinda dislike the NJPW undercard at the moment. About the half-way mark on the cards is usually when my interest starts to go up. I think Dominion is the better show & Okada/Tanahashi is better than Suzuki/Tanahashi, but what can ya do? That's how the hype machine works. I did like the first Okada/Tanahashi match better than both, honestly. Probably Okada/Naito too. Hell, I dunno, ask me again in December.

Re: Better New Japan Show: June 16th or October 8th
I lined them up match by match.
I liked KOPW's opener more because I didn't expect it to actually engage me. The Jr. Tag opener in Dominion was good, but it was exactly what I expected from the Jr.'s and the DDT guys. I didn't expect Nakanishi to be selling so well, and Yano and Iizuka working as well as they did. Ok, I'm learning to expect that from Yano, but not Iizuka.
If a match has both Inoue and Yoshi-Hashi in it, it takes like two stars away in general IMO. Plus, I liked the Jr. Tag title match quite a bit. In fact, the CHAOS vs Blue Justice match is a major strike in this comparison. Way more than Naito/Yujiro could have been.
However, the Dominion Jr. Tag match was not only better than KOPW's jr. tag match by a large margin IMO, but I also liked the Jr. Title match from Dominion more than Low Ki/Ibushi. And usually I like Ibushi way more than Taguchi. So from the Jr. standpoint, Dominion wins.
The tag title match in Dominion was way more fun than the one from KOPW due to how out of control the whole fight was. The KOPW match was a near squash, while the Dominion title match was an antics filled brawl with massive CHAOS trolling.
The Laughter7 match was the most underrated match from KOPW. I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, Dominion had Karl and Tama vs The Black Guys (lol jk, it's MVP/Shelton). No contest, easily KOPW.
Nakamura/Tanaka vs Naito/Goto was awesome... But that was because of everyone but Goto. However, I'm comparing it to Goto/Nakamura to negate that, lol. Either way, Dominion wins on this.
I also really liked Makabe/Suzuki... However, it's against Okada/Anderson, which was IMO better than the G1 Climax finals. So... It's practically a toss up, but I'll give it to Okada/Anderson because I'd rather rewatch it than Makabe/Suzuki.
As for the main events... Another toss up. Both matches were incredible IMO. However, I have to give it to KOPW's main for one reason. This match up between Tana and Suzuki was very different than the ones they had in G1 and in Wrestle Kingdom. They really stepped it up. On the other hand, Tana vs Okada 2 was pretty much like the last one to me, but with a different winner.
Hmm... It's pretty much tied. Well, I'll make a new deciding factor.
How many matches would I skip on a rewatch?
Dominion:
CHAOS vs Blue Justice
Opener
Anderson/Tama vs MVP/Shelton
And maybe Low Ki/Taguchi
KOPW:
Low Ki/Ibushi
So yeah, I think KOPW was a better show overall. However, I think Dominion may have had more awesome, must see moments.

I haven't seen all of KOPW yet, but from what I have seen I think it gets my nod. The main event was just so fricking good.

Re: Better New Japan Show: June 16th or October 8th
It's a toss up for me. I guess I give the slight edge to DOMINION because I liked Okada/Tana II a little better than Tana/MiSu and the Jr Tag caught me completely off guard (one of the biggest mark out moments for me in 2012).
I'm glad Meltzer is raving about the show though. More people should've hopped on the New Japan stan train like 3 years ago.
