Only problem DGUSA/EVOLVE has is they don't have a strong financial backing like ROH does. If they did it would be totally different.

They're gonna have a very hard time growing their following as long as they're making sure a medium with the limited appeal of iPPV is the only way to watch their shows in any kind of timely fashion. For the DVD of their first show of the year to only now begin shipping at the beginning of September is an absolute disgrace.

I'm a fan of the product, but they should be ashamed of the way they go about making it available.

no, dgusa's main problem is that they don't have a strong fan base yet. roh (back in the day), pwg and chikara built solid fan bases, without the need of a big backer and did some good business.
i think the problem is that indy wrestling just isn't that popular anymore, like it was back in 05/06. aswell as the shitty economy.

A backer has nothing to do with getting DVDs out in good time, I can't think of any indy who taker 8+ months to release shows and almost none of them have any backing.

I see what you're saying, but in this case the backer has everything to do with getting them out. Sal fully backs EVOLVE, dk what the deal with DGUSA is, and he records all the shows. Sal is a VERY lazy human being. Just look at how they are procrastinating on announcing this DGUSA shot in November (Like all their shows). They've promoted for MONTHS that they're running that first weekend in November, and yet make finding buildings seem like the most impossible task in pro wrestling.

Rather than keep going, which would be very easy to do with these people, I'll just point to Seabs quote again.

On the plus side, as much as I have my gripes with Gabe, he has done a tremendous job establishing a core roster of guys there that I want to see, but again, it doesn't really mean a whole lot when every aspect of the business is approached so poorly.

DGUSA is a ton of fun, but it has nowhere close to the buzz that ROH had behind it.
