Championship Wrestling from Hollywood Leaves NWA

It was announced by Dave Marquez at the latest NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood TV Taping today that they have left the National Wrestling Alliance. The promotion was considered to be the biggest NWA member in terms of TV awareness, airing across Los Angeles.

The move appears to be due to the recent change in ownership in the NWA where Bruce Tharpe gained control of the name. Marquez had been a supporter of the NWA for many years. The promotion will now be known as Championship Wrestling from Hollywood.

NWA on Fire air on ION in NY,NJ and CT starting next month. NWA Anarchy got tv in so many places and NWA Smoky Mountain got tv. Not really a big loss.

Marquez was real close with Trobich and thats why Marquez got special treatment.

The big question is will Marquez keep using Pearce or will Pearce forfeit the NWA title?

Seems like bad news for the NWA. They might have bigger markets out there but they just lose a successful branch in the LA market. I don't really see this hurting or helping the company in LA though. I wonder why this happened?

Marquez built his brand off the nwa name and got many deals just off the name alone. People say the nwa dont matter but you be surprise how well nwa indies do compare to most smaller indies. Nwa currently have a toy deal. When Blue Demon was champion, coca cola invested money on any event Blue Demon was on. The big vision dvd deal in the past. Where would tna be if they didnt have the nwa name in the beginning?

I honestly expect more members to drop out after all of that controversy but we'll see. NWA still has a number of other markets catered to, but it'll be a while before they can gain the individual awareness that Championship Wrestling from Hollywood had.

I've never seen a (NWA) Hollywood show, but from what I've heard, it was a solid/good product with many SoCal/PWG stars, so I think I'm gonna catch the show here or there.

Last time I watched, Eric Watts, who miserably failed in WWE Tough Enough last year, is a pretty big star there. I've also seen Colt Cabana and Adam Pearce and it was awesome. It was in the start of 2012. Great show.

I accept rep.
