「BEST OF THE SUPER Jr.XVII ~ 2010」
The Contents:
1. What is the BOSJ?
2. Who are wrestlers fot the 2010 tournament?
3. The Tournament dates:
1. The Best of the Super Juniors or BOSJ, as it is abbreviated, is a tournament that is held every year by New Japan Pro Wrestling. All junior heavywieght wrestlers from any promotion in the world are allowed to be in the tournament, but this year the current IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion has been excluded. The winner of the tournament this year is aiming to get an automatic title opportunity against the current champion, who is pro wrestling NOAH's Naomichi Marufuji.
The tournament was created in 1988 and was known at that time as "The Top of the Super Juniors" and remained to be called so until 1994 when it was changed to "The Best". The tournament style is based on the standard round robin, where every man faces each opponent in their respected block before they decide who goes on to the semi-finals.
A pin/submission/DQ gives the winner 2 points in the tournament (2); a lose gives no points (0); and tie between both competitors gives each respectively one point (1). A tie can happen on a double count-out and or a time limit draw (matches are generally 30 mins. in length).
There is a total of 21 tournaments, including this years and "The Top of the Juniors" which ran for four years. This years tournament will be running from May 30th to June 16th, 2010.
New Japan recently posted the history of the BOSJ tournament on their youtube page check it out!

Well there is not much for a demand for anyone to cover Japanese wrestling as a whole, so pretty much anymore it is brushed off without anyone really paying much attention.
There are a few others and myself who are dedicated to keeping people informed with all the happenings in Japan, so if there is a demand for it here? I may start becoming a bit more active here on WF.
Are you guys interested in me posting the results, daily, here?

We started talking about a few weeks back into the sticky Puro thread if you're wondering why there wasn't a thread on it but BOSJ is good enough for it's own thread
Lineup looks brilliant and the big matches always seem to deliver. As sad as current puro is these matches will probably be the only ones I'd reccomend to anyone this year until KENTA gets his ass back in motion from his injury.
