The NWA over the years has seens its ups and downs, over the last 20 or so its has been mostly down. My question is just to anyone who cares to your reply. What are your thoughts on the legendary Organization? Do you ever see it creating a national company like WCW in the late 80's and early 90's and taking another stab at the WWE? Or like most do you feel like it is in a decline that it will never recover from? There next big show features a Main Event for the NWA world heavyweight title between champion Blue Demon,jr and Sicodelico,jr on Feb 26th. With no intended disrespect this is the first time I've ever even heard of Blue Demon. At the least they should put the belt back on Albright.
Obviously they aren't doing too good today. They really lost any chance they had at regaining some prestige when TNA split away from them.
I honestly don't see what the point of it is today. I mean the name is worthless and the only benefit that I see of being in the NWA is that it could be easier to exchange talent with other indy companies and you can get the occasional visit from either the NWA World or Tag champions.

I've personally never understand why they've never re-organized themselves as a wrestling promotion more then a governing body. I thought they were finally building up some momentum when they came out with "NWA: Showcase" but then that flopped for the most part.

I have a lot of respect for the NWA. But in it's current state it's kinda sad.
The NWA World Title basically for rent. Blue Demon while a huge star in Mexico is only champion cause he's renting the title out. Personally I think TNA did a lot of harm to them especially during the Jarrett reign of terror as champion.
I'd love to see the NWA get some sort of national level just so the World, US, World Television, and World & US Tag Titles could come back but it's not gonna happen anytime soon unless there's a huge merger of feds.

NWA: On Fire actually airs on national television in Australia. It's a year or two old though, I don't even know if the promotion is still around. But I've seen wrestlers like Rob Conway, The Young Bucks, Awesome Kong, Eugene, Don Juan and others on there. It's kinda campy though. Half of it airs during UFC Wired so I usually don't bother.
