Okay, I'm relatively new to ROH. My first real taste of being an ROH fan was the HDNet episodes. To me, the first tree were decent, but clearly I was expecting them to get better. As time has gone on I have't watched since episode five, and even that one I skipped most of.
Anyways, for the longest time now I've heard people say how ROH is in a real bad way and that it's having a bad year? Well, is it? Seriously, aside from Jerry Lynn getting the strap, how is it? Maybe it's because it's all new to me, but it's still the best damn wrestling promotion in North America. The amount of talent is unbelievable; Aries, Strong, Danielson (still), Black, Richards, Jacobs - the list goes on. ROH keep churning out the best young talent in the world and it makes for exciting watching. Personally, it's given me a new respect for wrestling. Granted, I can't keep track of it very well, due to the fucked up and hard-to-follow schedule, but still, it looks in pretty great shape to me.
So, what's wrong with ROH? Do you think that it's having a bad year? On paper, it's having a pretty damn good one I'd say.
If you watch any of the following -
May 2005
Summer of Punk
Milestone Series
Then you will be wondering why the quality can't be as frequent as it once was.
The only special appeance thats worth it is Lance Storm because he wrestles. I remember watching old shows and theres alot more people. Now that Austin Aries is champ they can focus on a fued with Tyler Black, Davey Richards and the rest of the young roster hopefully Lynn doesnt wrestle any shows. And they need to bring back the long shows so we can get more bang for our buck.
hopefully the Richards Kenta match will do what Kobashi and Joe did to dvd sales. Another thing ROH could do is put on an ausome show and put it on youtube and their site for free to atract new fans because i got a dvd on the net now i recycle many cans to buy dvds. wonder how FIP is doing
I guess I'd agree with that. One guy on the ROH message board said he is most excited about meeting Flair than seeing the show itself lol
Thing is, someone on the ROH board is someone who already gives them money and thus doesn't really need to be drawn in by extra costs.
What i'm saying is that anyone who is open-eyed enough to catch an ROH ad of a Flair or Hart appearance and actually bother showing up for it is someone who probably would've been there anyway, or at the very least isn't a new fan to ROH.
I saw the Jerry Lynn matches and really don't get why people are dumping on him they were good and he sells for other people. It's bad if they are in trouble money wise.
The Jerry Lynn bitching is just arseholes who are whining because the belt isn't on Aries, Tyler or Danielson. But on TV you need a recognizable face with the strap. Simple as.
Actually, for me, I complain about Lynn because he's over 40. An old man should not be representing a company unless you're as over as Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin. the fact this old man can beat some of Ring of Honor's finest, to me, makes the roster look weak cause they shouldn't be losing to this old man.
Hell, I think Kenny King holding the belt makes more sense than having Jerry Lynn as champ.
But it's all good now cause Geritole Lynn lost last night in NYC to Austin Aries. As good a choice as any in my opinion. The only real bad choice would have been D Lo Brown.
I'm not more interested in ROH than I was a couple of months ago so I'm excited to see where they go with Aries and Tyler Black.
The Bash has to be regarded as the worst booked show of the year so far. Just reading the results online I wanted my money back..... and I didn't even pay anything.
Aries would have been my choice to take the belt, hopefully Lynn will stick around to elevate guys, same as D'Lo. Would be nice if Storm could appear more regularly to do the same.

why? that's not gonna happen, he's still part of the roster.
So I saw somewhere that ROH is giving away tickets to the tapings in Philly. Can anyone comfirm something for me, is this a contest or are they really having that hard of a time filling even the most rabid of cities nowadays?
