(Not sure what forum this gets put in -- move around if necessary...)

Since we now all know:

1) Mania's going to be a chunky dumpster fire
2) There are about 15-20 other cards...

I'm going to put this out there and see what the discussion goes off as:

What match is your anticipated Match of the Weekend at WrestleMania Weekend?

#2 ·
Well right now it would be Owens vs. Jericho with the way they built that up. Also the likely 3 way tag match with The Revival vs. DIY vs. AOP at NXT Takeover.

I’m someone who is just now starting to dip my toes in the water of independent wrestling. I will be looking out to see what happened at ROH’s Super Card of Honor. And that big WWN match to determine the first WWN champion.

Right now, even with not dipping my foot into a lot of the other cards (which is one reason I made this thread, and thanks for picking somewhere to put it!), this would get my vote, especially since the Hardys are NOT going to WWE, it appears, so they can still be the awesome they've been the last year and a half -- and do we need to say any more about the Young Bucks?

#16 ·
THIS! I'll only be watching WM and the NXT show but I absolutely can't wait for Neville vs. Aries. I haven't been this pumped for a match in a very long time. Simple booking is best and Neville has been fire on ppv this year.

The first televised Bucks vs. Hardys match should be a spectacle if nothing else.

What's Matt Riddle doing that weekend? Look for him to deliver (AGAIN)

Adam Cole vs. Dalton Castle could be great.

Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Michael Elgin should be very interesting.

Fénix vs. Will Ospreay from last year's BOLA was one of the most amazing matches I've ever seen live (on DVD/Blu-Ray it was great) and felt like a preview of what they could do. That has my vote currently.

I see see your Hardys vs Young Bucks and raise you Hardys vs Fenix & Pentagon! Now that's a crazy dream match that people are sleeping on. Also, it's hard to disagree with Fenix vs Ospreay being the match of the weekend. Those guys are amazing and I think that they will probably top their awesome BOLA match. Ricochet vs Scurll will probably be great too. There are so many that it is hard to pick! I'll stick with Ospreay vs Fenix, though.

Given the current state of WWE, I'm convinced they're not going to produce the best match of the weekend. If you have any combination of Zack Sabre Jr., Adam Cole, Fenix, Pentagon, The Young Bucks, and Dragon Lee then yeah those all have solid shots.

I watched three shows for WrestleMania Weekend: WrestleMania 33 (Duh), NXT TakeOver: Orlando, and ROH: Supercard of Honor XI

My Top 10 of the Weekend:

1) The Hardys Vs. The Young Bucks: ROH Tag Title Ladder Match (ROH Supercard of Honor XI) = It was a main event that felt big, had a great atmosphere, and was exciting. I'm typically critical of The Bucks, this type of environment is perfect for them and The Hardys made them look like a million...uh...bucks. Great main event!

2) The Authors of Pain -c- Vs. DIY Vs. The Revival: NXT Tag Title Elimination Match (NXT TakeOver: Orlando = Another outstanding showing for the NXT Tag Teams as The Authors of Pain looked like unstoppable monsters and DIY and Revival had to work together to try and take them down. Very exciting, very wild, and a lot of fun to watch.

3) Goldberg -c- Vs. Brock Lesnar: WWE Universal Title (WrestleMania 33) = Fuck it, I'm not even kidding. My favorite match from Mania and one of my favorite matches of the weekend. Yeah it was only about 5 minutes long, but damn it, it was a pure shot of adrenaline. And this match was perfect for its placement on the show. By the time it started, I was already kind of warn out and just wanted to wrap up for the night and then THIS explosive bit of awesomeness happens. I just got so sucked into it!

4) AJ Styles Vs. Shane McMahon (WrestleMania 33) = Honestly, this match was exciting, creative and fun to watch. I wish they hadn't done some of the hardcore elements since AJ's whole spiel was that Shane wouldn't be able to do that stuff and he'd have the advantage, but whatever. Some creative counters, high impact action, and just fun stuff all around. Also, my guy AJ got his first Mania win.

5) Bobby Roode -c- Vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: NXT Title (NXT TakeOver: Orlando) = I guess my biggest criticism is that its a rematch main event with the exact same result, so it felt like not a whole lot was accomplished outside of simply solidifying Bobby Roode in his spot. However, they once again had a killer main event and blended together beautifully.

6) Cody Rhodes Vs. Jay Lethal: Texas Bullrope Match (ROH Supercard of Honor XI) = I got a kick out of this one. It had that 80s brawling type of violence that I like. It didn't focus so much on spots as it did just being violent and that made it feel more brutal and less staged to me. Also points for doing things like yanking on the Bullrope to stop the Lethal Combination and Disaster Kick, and its always nice to see blood in a match like this too. This type of match was fairly atypical for ROH, but that was honestly why I liked it. It was a different flavor and the fans ate it up.

7) Chris Jericho -c- Vs. Kevin Owens: United States Title (WrestleMania 33) = One of the best built up matches on the show kind of had its thunder stolen by the opener, but was still really strong in its own right. Some of the counters were creative too (loved the Pop-Up Powerbomb into the Codebreaker spot).

8) Anderson/Gallows Vs. Enzo/Cass Vs. Sheamus/Cesaro Vs. The Hardys: Raw Tag Title Ladder Match (WrestleMania 33) = Hardys kinda stole the weekend, huh? Honestly, I was expecting another paint by numbers multi-man spotfest ladder match and, yeah, that's basically what this was. However, the return of The Hardys added a lot of flavor to it, and because of it, this is one multi-man Ladder match I will actually remember by this time next year.

9) Will Ospreay and Volador Jr Vs. Dragon Lee and Jay White = Kind of a spotfesty match, but hey, for its placement on the card and just an excuse to showcase some guys, it worked fine. Ospreay and Dragon Lee are really something special.

10) Neville -c- Vs. Austin Aries: WWE Cruiserweight Title (WrestleMania 33 Preshow) = Its a shame that the CW's didn't get a main card spot, because this match certainly deserved it. It had a better build up than say Ambrose/Corbin or the SD Women's Match, but it got bumped off. Oh well, they had a good match regardless.

Top Ten Worst of the Weekend:

1) The Undertaker Vs. Roman Reigns: No Holds Barred (WrestleMania 33) = What else do I have to say that hasn't already been said?

2) Bray Wyatt -c- Vs. Randy Orton: WWE Championship (WrestleMania 33) = This was awful. Orton wins, lol. Bray looks silly, and the projected images amounted to nothing. This was just dull, and messy.

3) Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (WrestleMania 33 Preshow) = Stroman lost, so this was a waste. Oh wait, we got Gronk in there and his buddy got to win the match in what was probably the only real headscratcher result of the night. I know its a preshow battle royal and all, but Mojo? Seriously?

4) Andrade Cien Almas Vs. Alestair Black (NXT TakeOver: Orlando) = The booking here was weird to me. They debut Black (Tommy End) so they obviously want to showcase him and make him look great...but I felt like Almas controlled most of the match. So his debut felt like I was watching him get dominated for most of it. That seemed like a mistake to me. I don't know. Its the guy's debut. Give him a dominating win, if not over Almas, then somebody you can throw at him.

5) Silas Young and Beer City Bruiser Vs. The Kingdom [Matt Taven/Vinny Marseglia] (ROH Supercard of Honor XI) = Pure forgettable filler, nothing more.

6) Alexa Bliss -c- Vs. Naomi Vs. Mickie James Vs. Becky Lynch Vs. Carmella Vs. Natalya: Smackdown Women's Title (WrestleMania 33) = Most memorable part for me was Mickie James' outfit. Other than that, it was filler with the typical "Two people share the ring, one runs into break it up" cycle that these type of matches seem to have.

7) Dean Ambrose -c- Vs. Baron Corbin: Intercontinental Title (WrestleMania 33 Preshow)
= Why does the IC Title always get the shaft come Mania time? Its really strange. These two got pulled from the main card and had to keep it short as time was running out before the main show had to begin. It was OK for what it was, but nothing to write home about. Also, as has been pointed out, its sad that Ambrose went from Lesnar last year to preshow this year.

8) The Miz and Maryse Vs. John Cena and Nikki Bella: Mixed Tag Team Match (WrestleMania 33) = Anything nice I have to say about this match has to do with The Miz who played it up like a mofo in this thing. He was the whole show here for me. Everything else...meh. It ended pretty much exactly how everyone said it would.

9) Bobby Fish Vs. Silas Young (ROH Supercard of Honor XI) = I put this one low on the list because the brawl surrounding it was cool and it provided build up for a match down the road. However, what was the point of even having an official match if it was just going to get thrown out after two minutes anyway? Just have the promo and the brawl. There, done!

10) Bayley -c- Vs. Nia Jax Vs. Charlotte Vs. Sasha Banks: Raw Women's Title Elimination Match(WrestleMania 33) = Well I guess I'm a sexist for putting all of WWE's women's matches on my worst of list, but I'm sorry. but after having the MOTN at Mania 32, I didn't feel like the Women came through this year (Asuka Vs. Ember Moon at TakeOver was good and blew all the Mania women's matches out of the water). This match started off good, but then deflated once Nia was eliminated. The botches with the exposed turnbuckle that wasn't exposed was bad, and Bayley's victory didn't feel like a big deal (would have helped if they saved the title win for Mania after months of build, but hey).

Cole and Scurll had a nice little scrap. Very enjoyable match all the way through, although, the tombstone piledriver spot was shaky at best.

#25 ·
Toss up between Bucks/Hardyz & Cole/Scrull for me.

I think had the tombstone botch not happened, it would've been hands down the best match of the weekend imo.

Team Ricochet vs Team Ospreay is really not getting the buzz it deserves. Buy the show just for that match alone and you won't be disappointed. Amazing high flying stuff.

I've heard nothing but positive things on the Team Ospreay vs. Team Ricochet match from the WrestleCon Supershow so I will seek that one out ASAP.

Bucks/Hardys stole the weekend with an absolutely insane Ladder Match.
