Re: SHIMMER struggling bad

interesting. All I have ever heard about their dvd sales is how big they are overseas.

Not my cup of tea, but hopefully they can find some money to stay in business.

Re: SHIMMER struggling bad

I don't think the DVD sales do that well over here compared to the womens promotions.

Re: SHIMMER struggling bad

they could easily bring in 6-8 less girls every set of tapings.

I hope they can stick around. I know they aren't running shows every week or anything like that but I feel like they have an important role in women's independent wrestling.

Re: SHIMMER struggling bad

I tried to like Shimmer but I honestly didn't think it was that good. It was like a low rate indy. Plus now WWE are taking women's wrestling more seriously, I guess there's not as much demand for it. Shame for anyone trying to earn their living there.

Re: SHIMMER struggling bad

I think the problem is Shimmer at the time in 2005 was a breakthrough in womens wrestling, but then you had the rise of the TNA Knockouts then more womens companies started to come then recently WWE's in on the women now, along with Japan and the rise of Stardom/Sendai Girls/JWP/WAVE too. Plus SHINE in Florida too.

I guess you can say that time passed Shimmer by, even in business models and production. There is no VOD/streaming service. The old $20 DVD model.

Re: SHIMMER struggling bad

:/ :/ This is heartbreaking.

I mentioned maybe a year or two ago how I felt that SHIMMER was starting to slow down, be it because of the late DVD releases, or mostly tbh, the SHIMMER discussion on the board. Whenever there was a taping, the Discussion for it would reach 50+ pages, the last few years it's been mostly 5-7 pages.
I noticed the trend tbh around SHIMMER 50, but it seemed that was doing well with WrestleCon appearance one time a year and taking on that new Venue.. Hopefully, it bounces back, but IMO, this company is a success.
10+ years of great women wrestling, if there purpose was to give a platform for women to display their talent to get recruited by bigger companies they served it right..

Edge, Sting, Jushin Liger, Alex Shelley, Christopher Daniels,CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Bret Hart, Mick Foley, John Morrison, Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles, Sami Zayn.

Cheerleader Melissa, Lita, Mschif, Manami Toyota, Becky Lynch, Emma, Hamada, Jessie Mckay, Alexis Laree,AJ Lee, Bull Nakano and Beth Phoenix.

Re: SHIMMER struggling bad

like I said, SHIMMER is not my cup of tea but I would at least know when there was tapings coming up. The last set I didn't hear about until I saw the results after the event happened.

Re: SHIMMER struggling bad

Tomoka Nakagawa's retirement show from April of 2015 is STILL in pre order stage and waste money on way too many workers for way too many tapings for DVDs nobody's gonna see for 2 years thus nobody cares in the end

No fucking shit they have trouble
