All in all, this looks like it should be a really good event. Lethal vs Strong is a shoe-in for a MOTYC, the Four Corner match should be great as well as Briscoes vs RPG Vice and the rest of the card has some good storylines and entertaining match-ups. I think Moose vs Alexander could be a dark horse for a good match and I think ACH and Page are gonna deliver a quality bout.
I will order the ippv. The card looks strong. The only match that is out of place is the Will Ferrarra vs. Silas Young match. Ferrarra is just too small to be taken seriously by the fans. He is about 5' 6" and 170 lbs. The DA TV ratings for his match with Silas were really bad. ROH should have booked a talent like AR Fox , Chris Dickerson , Trevor Lee or Andrew Everett to work with Young. Weak match.
Yeah, unless Will gets a proper storyline or feud where he gets to develop some personality, he is gonna be an opener/jobber until he leaves ROH. It sucks because the guys is a good in-ring worker from what I've seen, his match against Dijak in the Top Prospect Finals was great.
I'm weirdly looking forward to Castle/Cole. Obviously Cole is awesome and Castle won me over on his debut. The guy oozes charisma and he is entertaining in the ring. I thought Castle's match with Mike Bennett from the recent tours was awesome so this should be a good one.
The Addiction are defending the titles against Taven and Bennett, ReDRagon and War Machine in a Four Corner Survival Match. Young Bucks aren't scheduled to appear, they're gonna be at the PWG event on the same day so they won't be wrestling.
I'm interested in seeing Jay Lethal make his first defense of the World's Championship against a former champion and to see how he carries himself as the title holder. He's not just defending a belt here, he's defending one of the two most prestigious titles in the world (the other being the IWGP) and he really needs to make his run as champion worth it after fighting so hard to finally get there.
I think Lethal has it in him to rival Danielson/Joe/Nigel during his tenure as champion and add even more prestige to a title that is already dripping in classic matches and rich history. Time shall tell but I'd keep an eye on his run because I'm thinking it may be a historic one. Fight on champ.....Fight on....
Both guys are ROH Triple Crown champions. Either one (likely Roddy) taking a loss isn't going to hurt their credibility one bit.
If/when Lethal eventually loses the title (hopefully not soon) he should go after the tag belts. He'd be the only guy to win the World, Television, Pure, and Tag titles.
I'd say before, just not sure against who. Doubtful that it's Hanson, War Machine should get the Tag Titles sometime. Hopefully either Fish or O'Reilly.
WAR MACHINE winning the titles would be super even though I love Daniels and Kaz. I wonder if House of Truth get banned from interfering in the ME or whatever at least It seems likely they will get involved in it. But either way thats an epic match coming up for sure. I also like Moose over Cedric as well. I still wish they could throw in Shimmer title matches at these events lol. But the card looks great.
Well, the build to this show has been a little scattered, but I just ordered the iPPV. The main event should hopefully be a great match but I don't see any scenario where Lethal loses. Still too soon I'd say. Been virtually no build for the Tag Title match so I just expect the Addiction to retain. Cole vs. Castle and Briscoes vs. RPG Vice look like the gems of the undercard. Hopefully ACH and Page bring the hardcore goods, but not sure what to expect there.
No Sydal on the card, which makes me think he'll be working PWG instead tonight. Who knows. Dijak vs. Watanabe is also happening here but it's being taped for the ROH Youtube channel beforehand. That actually sounds like it cold be good.
I'd like to see Kaz and Daniels drop the tag belts simply because I want them to have singles runs.
I want to see Christopher Daniels win the ROH or TNA world title before he retires. He's one of the greatest wrestlers ever to never win a major world title, and he absolutely deserves one while he's still able to put on great matches.
And I could dig Kaz winning the TV title, and eventually putting someone like Moose or Dalton Castle over in a feud for the belt down the line.
His mic work has come a long way. It's still not one of his strengths but compared to 7 or 8 years back he's a hell of a lot better now.
