Would be shocked if people turned on Ring of Honor for going national

I can see this happening. I think usually people crap on TNA because Tna has been garbage, but there has ALAWAYS been people who have wanted Tna to go under even before 2013, and it felt like it was because it was the only other national company besides wwe. I feel like a lot of wwe fans feel like that wwe is the only company with the right to national. I can see people turning on ROH at some point because they are national, one guy on wrestlezone thought ROH was the future and that TNA should go under to help it, but once ROH did go national he was saying that wwe might be a good idea to buy the library, YEAHHHHHH!!!

I think certain fans out there are happy with other companies as long as they don't go national in north America, they are fine with New japan because they can just say that is foregin.. I think that is a dumb thought process to be honest. In fact I would love for ROH or TNA to get to WCWS size and be able to be on the same level as wwe, won't happen but it would be awesome. I do not see why people want wwe to be the only company where you can have a hall of fame career when clearly having two and three lead to a BOOM!!!

So my question do you see wwe fans turning on ROH like wwe has for going national????????

I'm guessing at least 80% of the WWE audience has no interest in ROH whatsoever. But yeah, as ROH grows in popularity, there will be more trolls. I stopped watching in 2009 when the product took a nosedive.

It has gotten better, but man that was dark time did they not almost DIE, and now they have gone national.

Re: Would be shocked if people turned on Ring of Honor for going national

ROH, whose product I have found to be much less frustrating to watch, and having even attended the TV tapings that are currently being aired on DA, is something that I would have thought people would have been happier and more receptive with, especially since their product doesn’t have the same stigma that TNA does and they seemed to have a good relationship with WWE. But if there are some fans that are going to be acting this way just because they are more popular, then I don’t see why I would opposed to keeping TNA, even if I don’t pay attention to their programming that much anymore. Combined with the recent news story that WWE won’t hire anyone who goes to ROH first (which is the same policy they have for those that go to TNA) ever since ROH ended up on DA is why I am starting to change my tune and reassess my position in regards to my F*** TNA stance. No real reason to continue hating them when it has become clear to me that WWE and some fans are wary of both companies becoming competition, despite the fanbases of ROH and TNA being nowhere near as large as WWE’s.

WWE sees ROH and TNA as competition, not a threat. Difference between the two.

Re: Would be shocked if people turned on Ring of Honor for going national

I think the WWE about is concerned ROH just because they are owned by Sinclair Broadcasting. The reality is that Sinclair was far greater resources than anyone in wrestling , including the WWE . I would imagine the WWE does not want ROH to grow , then Sinclair might actually put some capital in ROH

.Right ROH is just floating along on a bare bones budget. However they did get the DA deal done , they got the NESN deal done , they got the PPV deal done , they restarted ippv . locked talent down , the NJPW relationship is strong and the house business is up about 30 % . Joe Koff is proven to be a capable businessman.

I don't think the WWE will be able to stop ROH from signing talent . A few people may be scared off from signing with ROH , but not many. The bottom line is as long as Sinclair owns ROH , they will have at least regional TV . There is really no way Vince can knock Sinclair out of the wrestling business. SB just has too many money to be forced out.

TNA is of no concern to the WWE , their business is trending downward. Dixie Carter has proven to just the opposite of Joe Koff , a complete failure.

All that said ROH has a long way to go before they are any kind of competition for the WWE. It appears that the WWE just wants to try and kill ROH before they grow any type of threat . Should be an interesting rest of the year .

Seeing as WWE have given ROH free publicity in their website and on DVDs, I seriously doubt they care.

As for WWE casuals, I doubt they would be elitist when it comes to watching another pro-wrestling product, more like "oh shit it's another wrestling show".

Re: Would be shocked if people turned on Ring of Honor for going national

I think the WWE is aware of Sinclair . They are not run by some indy promoter like DJ Hyde or Ian Rotten . . Sinclair stock is worth around $ 3 billion dollars on the open market ., while the WWE stock has a market cap around $ 800 million. Sinclair has the money to make ROH a viable second national promotion .

Sinclair buys and sells these TV stations for millions of dollars , yet won't provide ROH proper production equipment. The WWE people are aware of Sinclair economic strength. The big question is will Sinclair continue run ROH on the cheap or will they get serious about wrestling and put money into ROH ? Who knows.

Re: Would be shocked if people turned on Ring of Honor for going national

ROH is ran by competent people

Tna is not

This is why wwe keeps an eye on roh

But there was a conflicting story put out on wwe wanting tna and roh talent. So yeah the stories just go back and forth.

Re: Would be shocked if people turned on Ring of Honor for going national

The OP didn't ask how much money Sinclair has. The topic is "So my question do you see wwe fans turning on ROH like wwe has for going national????????"

No. Why would they? And what would it matter if they're wwe fans and not ROH fans?

The question should be "Will ROH fans turn on them for going national?" Something like saying "they sold out" like with indy bands when they're signed by a big record label or somethin'
