Is XPW really that violent?

Seriously HighSpots has a thing where you have to be 18 and older to order XPW stuff, so I'm wondering, is it really that brutal and horrible?

Wasn't that violent....just terrible.

Kind of get a rep when you advertise electrocuting a dog or produce rape porn.

Re: Is XPW really that violent?

It's probably due to the potential for pornographic content on the videos. Pretty much all of their female characters had a porn background.

The more important question though, is why would anyone want to pay money for an XPW show? I bought the Baptized In Blood commercial release on Amazon a couple of years back and after watching it I feel robbed of not only my money, but 6 hours of my life that I can never get back.

More so shitty than violent. Basically the bottom of the barrel when it comes to wrestling or anything really...

Re: Is XPW really that violent?

Thee is some nudity on their videos; this is the most likely reason for the requirement.

Re: Is XPW really that violent?

The violence factor really isn't too bad compared to some of the other deathmatches that are out there. I think the main reason for the 18+ logos all over their DVDs is for marketing. They try to show themselves as being this super violent and edgy product that you won't see anywhere else and has to be seen to be believed. It is violent and bloody for sure, but not to the extent that they market it as. And there is a lot more violent stuff that can be found elsewhere.

And it's an effective marketing strategy since there are so many members here that can say they were duped into buying one of their DVDs. When I was first branching out of WWE they were a company that I tried because it looked to be the exact opposite of mainstream wrestling. The DVD catches your eye and it makes you think it's this underground fight club wrestling DVD.

It's not, the product is absolute garbage, as in the worst wrestling I've ever seen. But they did get me to make a a couple of purchases before I realized what I bought.

Re: Is XPW really that violent?

Yeah compared to WWC, FMW, CZW, Tri State etc XPW was tame although they had a few good matches RVD vs Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe vs Tommy Dreamer but it was mostly what you'd get if Howard Stern ran a wrestling promotion.
