Default TNA showing interest in ROH talent

Not putting this in the TNA section with the mentals there.

Reported by Meltzer this week:

Quote:
There may be something going on behind-the-scenes as it regards TNA, with the two companies running PPVs one week apart, and ROHís show being from Nashville, where TNA has its home offices. TNA has made some moves, including contacting some ROH talent. One report from ROH is that TNA has gone after several key ROH talents this past week, although those talents were all said to be under ROH contract. The story is that ROH is trying to make sure there are no issues with the contracts. This all was going down at press time. The only names that have somewhat gotten out that fall into this category is Bobby Fish & Kyle OíReilly, and that Davey Richards was the conduit. No doubt heíd like to work with them in TNA since the tag team situation there is weak. Although Adam Coleís name is the only one that has come out, a number of ROH wrestlers are expected to get good paying shots in New Japan toward the latter part of the year, after G-1, since new Japan pretty much has all of its plans for foreigners booked through that period. Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows when they were at the ROH shows were really putting over how great it is to work New Japan, with the minimal stress and politics that most Americans talk about. To most in wrestling now, New Japan has replaced TNA as the No. 2 promotion as far as prestige goes, but thatís not universal since TNA is still based in the U.S. and its shows air internationally. There was more money in TNA, although that may not be the case anywhere. But ROH working with New Japan allows it to work out dates and is a nice way to keep talent from going to TNA that would have considered it even six months ago. There is also the situation with The Wolves, who, even though they are tag team champions in TNA, there is the feeling they havenít been put over well, so it makes people leery about going. But even now, no matter how you slice it and TNA may beat ROH on PPV this month and may even draw better live, TNA is still the better paying and far bigger company. But another negative on TNA is the belief that if you go to TNA, itís very difficult to get to WWE, and for almost all wrestlers, that is the ultimate goal. Plus right now, the morale in TNA isnít good.

Court Bauer mentioned this on mlw VIP. Lawyers might get involved if tna keeps doing it. Court also said Dave Lagana was the guy scouting.

Bauer mentioned Lethal. PWInsider reported 3 days ago (or so) about TNA scouting former X champs for their NY show (which happens after the PPV). Lawyers can't do shit.

If anybody willingly jumps ship from ROH to TNA, they have to be mentally challenged. TNA is almost out of business. They don't make a profit. If Dixie's parents weren't rich, TNA would have been gone a year ago.

Go to TNA and make same money, be in the worst wrestling company in business, cost yourself WWE, etc.

Stick with ROH, company on the rise, have a bridge to WWE, etc. Tough choice.

And I'm pretty sure if you try to negotiate a deal with someone who is already under contract, that's illegal. I'm not saying that that's what TNA is doing. I'm just saying.

Guys like Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole #Baybay etc. can probably make more money in the Indys.

Don't shoot.... i don't hate TNA or shit but the product is just meh and bad at this point.

It still a job for these guys. A little bidding war wouldn't be the worst thing to happen. Nothing new for ROH, they're a pretty resilient and admirable company.

Its obvious TNA need an injection of fresh talent, so it makes sense to go after a company with TV-ready stars.

Mayorga on facing Vargas: I'm going to give Vargas the chance to cash his last paycheck. I would like to say publicly that Fatty Vargas has always feared me. I conceded to take this fight at 162 pounds because fatty couldn't lose any more weight. I will do Vargas a favor by retiring him in this fight so his family doesn't have to suffer every time he steps in the ring. I'm going to do his wife a favor and not let her cry anymore.

Right now if I was a ROH star, I'd stay put as there is no reason to go to TNA and get lost in the shuffle.

Since when is it illegal to negotiate with someone under contract ?

It happens in MMA all the time , it happens in business all the time .

I'm assuming that it's a stipulation ROH's wrestlers contracts after the Kenny King ordeal. Illegal probably the wrong word, but with Court saying lawyers may get involved, something must be up.
