Re: whats the use?

I'm not sure about Main Event but Superstars, NXT, Smackdown (mostly) and Saturday morning slam are all being taped.
Plus, that's a good question. I would personally rather see some good matches on Smackdown or RAW instead of watching another show. Plus that would probablly cost less for the WWE, but I guess they want to expand themselves. Different networks, different audiences (Saturday slam is being directed to children, for example), and in that way they can use most of their wrestlers.

Because RAW is there for story progression.

Re: whats the use?

as someone said more money for Vince. Simple as that.

Saturday Morning Slam & Main Event are taped before Smackdown. Superstars before RAW.

Re: whats the use?

All of those shows DO have a purpose

Saturday Morning Slam is a show just for the kids. Hopefully having an exclusive kids show would allow WWE to make RAW and SmackDown a little more Edgy.

Superstars is just meant to showcase wrestlers who may or may not get time on RAW or SmackDown

Main Event is basically C-show matches with main event level talent.

NXT actually does have a true purpose, which is to groom the developmental guys who are ready to be on TV, but still aren't really ready for primetime. The main roster talent such as Antonio Cesaro, Alex Riley, Tyson Kidd, Jinder Mahal, and Michael McGillicutty are meant to be "draws" for the NXT shows, to draw eyes to the new guys. However, I hate when the commentators talk about the main roster guys as possible contenders to the NXT Championship, as the minor league belt would be a step down for them

I agree with the OP in terms of what's the use of all these shows however. With the brand split basically over and WWE pretty much only focusing on RAW, why not just drop the pretense that the brands are equal and let SmackDown fulfill the purposes of Main Event and Superstars. Make RAW the show for all of the top guys and make SmackDown the show where midcarders get to shine, and then put something like Cena vs. Miz for ticket sales/ratings. Keep Saturday Morning Slam as the pure kiddie show.

Superstars and Main Event are just to get more money(Main Event airing on TV=More Ads for WWE to get money from)

Saturday Morning Slam is to get money, and to further attract a younger fanbase(like I said about this show before...if I was 7 and had a lineup of WWE followed by DBZ on Saturday mornings(on the same channel too!), I'd be so happy lol)

NXT is WWEs minor league/developmental system.

Re: whats the use?

They are there to entertain the fans and most of the time, these shows are better than RAW and Smackdown.

Main Event, SMS are taped before Smackdown. Superstars are taped before RAW and SD(most weeks). NXT does it own taping like once a month at a college in Florida.

More money and more exposure. I think they do RAW live and then tape everything else on Tuesday. Not sure about NXT. I read somewhere a while back that Vince wanted to have a show every night of the week.
