Fans have been wondering what exactly WWE NXT will be since Vince McMahon announced that ECW would end its run on Syfy and be replaced by the "next evolution" of WWE.
The word going around is that the NXT concept will be portrayed as a "reality" based series featuring new wrestlers who viewers will be able to follow inside and outside of the ring. Fans will be able to follow wrestlers from day one and get their personal insight, their background and goals, creating a different sense of deeper insight, etc.
As it stands now, the concept appears similar to WWE's former Tough Enough series with talent not only feuding with each other, but for the opportunity to become the "next" big WWE Superstar and move onto Raw or SmackDown.
WWE has been pitching different concepts for the series and formalizing plans since the fall, but all signs to point to this concept being the nucleus of NXT.
Interesting. I like the idea of someone being promoted to the raw or smackdown brand (once a year?? maybe post wrestlemania around draft time and keep the draft for raw and smackdown only or hell get rid of it and just use both shows? the roster is alot smaller nowadays with all the ecwcw wrestlers now moved on or retired.)
Also with these 3 hours shows being more regular and the road to wrestlemania pretty much destroying any "brand split" for the 2/3 months to WM.
Anyway I like it. Not too sure about the following inside and out like a reality show...I hate reality shows, don't watch a single one and if they turn it into one i wont be watching (unless its not as i know them and has wrestling on it) but if it is like CCW was, highlights of the week followed by a big match on the sunday kinda thing that would be crap. Im rambling quiet time now lol
sounds good to me....actually if this isn´t a regular 3rd roster who might also get matches on pay-per-views i am very happy......2 rosters is enough to deal with
So in my view it might be some sort of Reality-Format....maybe some of the stuff or maybe the most will take place at FCW Development in Florida
This sounds interesting it would give the fans a chance to connect with the wrestlers abit more but hopefully we get quite alot of wrestling on it aswell.
So what about the current ECW main eventers? Sorry, i mean christian. Surely Christian wont have to go through this NXT rubbish. Im guessing they will draft him and maybe Regal, Shelton and possibly Zeek to another brand before this starts.
May not be such good news for Kaval. As talented as he is, he's lacking in the personality department.
But knowing WWE it will either just become another wrestling show or a recap show. Look at Heat on MYV. That was supposed to have regular musical guests and MTV VJ's but it became a wrestling show in a matter of weeks. The old Livewire was supposed to be a call in show for fans but it quickly became a recap show.
