Re: Jim Cornette calls Revival vs Ciampa & Gargano 'a tag-team masterpiece'
Revival are perfect heels, they get how to make baby faces break out, and not flaky crap like what Sasha does, I'm talk substance, not that over-bearing crap. Like Sasha just knows how to be a barrier to make people climb her, and even then she isn't that good at it. Revival, their will to be champions is the barrier, and what they do in ring, is know how to get others to reveal themselves. Like when you meet a new friend who just naturally breaks you out of shells.
But seriously, Johnny is a breakout star. He just has the body and face of the "little slugger", it isn't even ultimate underdog, it is different shade of that type of thing, it is more like little guy steps up to bully type. Like its more about courage, rather than like Dbry where its more of a "conceded" heart. Like Johnny has never emotional pushed it to where he acts like he thinks he is better, and never uses that to be his driving force like Dbry.
But Ciampa just plays that more "tuned into reality" friend, who sees barriers and knows limitations of people, and his best friend Johnny is like the "younger and less experienced" type, where he only sees opportunity and so hungry he is blind sided to reality, so when he failed, Ciamp played off him so dam good. But when they came together to almost win, jesus christ...Easily the best tag team match of all time, 5* among tag matches.
These 3 matches:
-Johnny beating Ciampa
-Johnny losing CWC
-Fighting Revival
^-Just between those 3 matches, I've seen more character depth than I've seen in guys who worked a whole year. Like these guys know how to let us see them from the inside, and best part, Revival knows how to break down others and open them up (figuratively)
If anything I say doesn't make sense, it is because I had hard to finding words to explain things.
