Somebody besides Ember Moon should be the first to beat Asuka

I'm pretty sure, and I think most people would agree, that the most likely candidate to snap Asuka's win streak is Ember Moon. Unlike most people though, I don't think she should.

First of all, I think she will be pushed to the moon as it is, but NXT also has a lot of talent it needs to build up, and having somebody expected do it would help achieve that.

Second, Ember Moon beating Asuka's streak would be too predictable.

Third, and I admit this one may not be fair, but I wasn't overly impressed by her debut. I was expecting better after the hype.

So, somebody other than Ember Moon. Nikki Glencross is the first who comes to mind for me.

"Way more"? That's a bit strong. They're on a pretty similar level to be honest, even if Glencross doesn't have the same ariel ability, she's solid in the ring.

Though, if Asuka's not going to turn heel, then I'm all for a heel being the one to beat her, even if it means dirty wins.

Though I certainly don't have a problem with an Ember/Asuka feud, especially if they introduce their history and freindship into the narative.

Sometimes the best option is the most predictable one. Predictable doesn't always mean bad. WWE has conditioned us to think that way but that isn't always the case.

Second of all, Nikki Glenncross (somehow I don't think that name is permanent) ain't shit right now. She hasn't been introduced as someone credible enough to take down Asuka as she debuted in a 6 woman tag alongside some Tough Enough competitors lol. And it's obvious that she still needs to find her footing characterwise. It's laughable that you think she's a better option at this moment in time.

And for those saying Peyton/Billie Kay, a few months of solid booking isn't going to erase 1 year plus of jobbing. Asuka beat Nia Jax remember who squashed these 2 on numerous occasions. Don't get me wrong, I like these Australian lasses but them beating Asuka will always look manufactured/phony. They just aren't credible enough. Cheating is the only option, but when was the last time a woman won that title by cheating?? So yeah, that's out of the equation. I legit think it's like an unwritten rule or something.

Agreed. Butthurt fans of other women's wrestlers complained that Sasha beating Charlotte would be predictable last year, yet that didn't stop her from getting biggest pop a woman has received since AJ Lee when she won the title.

Thank you. I'm so tired of people using Shimmer or whatever the fuck indy organization to justify a WWE push. None of that matters if they aren't presented like a force when they debut here. I judge people based on what they do and how they're presented when they first step into an NXT ring. Ember is already built as the biggest deal outside of Asuka after her first match. It makes the most sense for her to dethrone Asuka.

Amen. I'm a Liv fan, but it would also look stupid if she was randomly pushed into the title picture, given her position on the card. Since Alexa and Nia were promoted, that means a strong, cheating heel defeating Asuka is definitely thrown out the window. With that said, we have to go with the most credible option in Ember.

I personally think no one can beat Asuka. What I would want is for her to be champ until she's called up and then vacates that title. Honestly IMO there's no one is Asuka's league in NXT. Hell the whole WWE IMO. Maybe Ember Moon will be the next one to step up but I don't see a legitimate reason why Asuka should lose to her other then she's going up.

This what happens when you book one person so far above everybody else, she's Asuka Lesnar. She can never lose unless it's to another ridiculously booked indy darling but once they beat her they instantly become the new Asuka. Unless they plan to continue the cycle forever at some point they have to put believeability aside and decide to give somebody the rub, isn't that what a fucking underdog victory is? It wasn't believable that Bryan while injured would beat all of Evolution in a single night... until it happened.

NXT desperately needs to have something outside the box happen. The last YEAR has been insanely predictable and the past TakeOver event was the most obvious show in WWE in the last decade.

I think the best choice is to do something different in the males singles division though, because right now the womens division in NXT is so bare. They have their eyes on only two or three of the women there right now and as we can see with Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, the only way you can be something in NXT other than being from Japan or TNA, is by having the machine solidly behind you.

one thing for sure is at least in the four horsewomen era they built those women up that anyone could beat anyone.

I felt that their best LEGIT (not a boss reference) chance to give asuka her first loss was either bayley or nia jax.

it'll probably be ember and I won't be upset at that but I could also see them giving someone (ex: aliyah or liv) a completely unpredictable roll-up pin loss or something which would bring her cockiness down a peg and thus losing part of her aura and making opponents facing her not as afraid of her and any subsequent losses not as surprising.

OR ya know, BROOOASKA LESNAR. (and this is coming from someone who loves her)

I hope Ember Moon is not another undefeated streak otherwise there is no hope in building a new division as Asuka and Ember will just be beating everyone else until they meet.

I would be fine with Asuka never losing and just leaving NXT one day for bigger challenges, vacating the title in the process.

Ember will beat her though. It's obvious from how much they hyped her up. The division definitely does not need more undefeated streaks so hopefully Moon doesn't just become another Asuka. Better for it to be a one off thing.

If they wanted to keep Asuka unpinned they could do a 3 or 4-way so that 1 of the other opponents eats the pin for Asuka to lose the title or have a special referee who does the biased fast-counts etc?
