What could this mean? Could the name of the upcoming Takeover be a bit of foreshadowing?

They kept everything inside that cage but it all fell apart
What it meant to Finn will eventually be a memory of a time when...

He tried so hard and got so far
But in the end
Joe's gonna beat Balor

Ironically, NXT is due for more of a shake up than the main roster. This used to be our escape from the mundane monotony of the main roster, but they've been guilty of it since Dusty died. "The End" should signify the end of Takeover *insert description here*, and the beginning of a new set of faces being pushed into relevancy, as some old faces move on to the main roster.

Finn & Joe have constantly say their cage match is "the end" that's why this Takeover is called "the end" because it's the end of this feud. I think you guys think way too much into this stuff lol.

Yes, I think it refers to Joe vs. Balor, but I do think it's a bit of a hint to what's coming next for NXT.

The common theory I've seen on here, other forums and on Twitter is that a bunch of call-ups will happen due to the brand split which will lead to a 'New Era' for NXT as well.

Let's hope it's the main event. NXT is the future. They can promote Naka, Joe, Balor, whoever, but it's still the future. NXT isn't about developing characters, it's about developing skills.

NXT - Developing skills.
Smackdown - Developing characters.
RAW - Top draws.

It has two meanings.

The first meaning is the Balor/Joe main event, it will be the third and final takeover match between the two. The second meaning is that NXT will be going through many changes over the next couple months and the era of established indy talent and world famous wrestlers running the show is coming to an end. It will be a purely developmental brand again as the main roster will need all the established talent it can get.

A few things:

It's probably the end of many feuds, and probably the end of many NXT stars being on NXT as a bunch of them get drafted to either Raw or Smackdown.

In this instance, it probably also represents the end of this Era of NXT, and there are many wrestlers waiting to debut that havn't made a formal NXT TV debut yet. Over the subsequennt weeks/months I'd expect the formal debuts of the likes of Andrade Almas, Adrienne Reese, Hugo Knox, Nicola Glencross, Rich Swann, Tino Sabbatelli, and more.

It might also be the end of every NXT special being called "Takeover: Something". And I'd be alright with that. Remember when every WWE PPV was called "In Your House: Something"? It's probably about time the "Takeover" prefix was phased out too.

Too much being read into 'The End' TakeOver tag, like many already said it represents the end of a long running Balor/Joe feud that had been brewing since before the DustyRhodes Memorial Classic then it became more intense after the dissolving of them as a tagteam.

I don’t like the sound of that. Probably just me being paranoid, but this draft and brand split has me thinking about something happening to NXT. Again, I’m probably just being paranoid.

I mean, they already have NXT Takeover Brooklyn locked in for the next couple years and they just ran a vignette to debut a new star. So, please tell me I’m just being paranoid.

Bunch of call ups to Raw or SD, and NXT begin under a new era with Nakamura as the new NXT top guy.

I figured it was just a reference to the Balor v Joe feud finishing or the Takeover name being changed, seeing as they have already "taken over"
