She's not like most girls. Nia is gonna be a star.

- The Rock took to Facebook last night to praise his cousin, WWE NXT Diva Nia Jax. Rock says they talked for hours at his new personal gym and he told her not to worry about titles or being famous, just remember that the most powerful thing she can be in and out of the ring is herself. Below is Rock's post:

Pleasure having my cousin and future WWE Diva Nia Jax come thru the ‪#IronParadise‬. As her mentor we talked for hours about her goals and the hard work it's gonna take to achieve them. I asked Nia (real name Lina Fanene) what her #1 goal is and she simply said, "greatness". Y'all know I had a big ass smile on my face when I heard that!

I told her don't worry about championship titles and don't be concerned about becoming famous, just always remember that the most powerful thing you can be IN AND OUT of the wrestling ring, is yourself... All 5'11 272lbs of beautiful, Samoan, German, authentic, savage, humble, hungry dominant woman. Be real, be you and greatness will come. Y'all KNOW she then cracked a big ass smile too.

You guys keep an eye out for my cousin.. one day she'll do big things and she'll do it with class and humility and more importantly, she'll do it just being herself.

She is ok. I don't see why she gets a lot of shit in the forums. I don't even know how people are judging her already when she has not even had a match of over 5 minutes. I am sure she has more in her arsenal. Like what exactly do people expect of her? You expect her to be having 5 star matches and doing moonsaults in her first month of developmental. Lower your expectations a bit and keep in mind she is a complete rookie at wrestling.

Thanks @december_blue

Well, time isn't on Nia's side, but I am pulling for her anyway.

The hatred for Rock's relatives is getting borderline uncomfortable.. like there should be a limit on the number of Samoans in WWE type uncomfortable.

Samoans didn't invent nepotism in wrestling. Who cares who you're related to as long as you can get the job done?

People seem to be under the perception that being related to the Rock is a substitute for hard work or guarantees a push. Tell that to the Usos who had to grind for 4 years before winning the tag titles or Tamina who has never been pushed. Reigns push is due to his look not his relations; people forget it took WWE 3 years to even acknowledge Reigns was Samoan on tv.

Nia Jax's push so far hasn't been any different or quicker than Dana Brooke's who I'm at least 857% sure is not related to the Rock.

As Booker T would say: "use your noodle!"

The problem here is exactly that Nia Jax has only been wrestling for a month or so. How can any of you try to justify that she's having an NXT Women's Title Matcha at London? Really? After three squashes where she was dreadful, and then you see someone like Dana Brooke, Emma or Alexa Bliss who have far better wrestling abilities, mic work, character, and they have been training for longer than Nia.

No one is saying Nia isn't working hard, but seriosly, now she SUCKS, she's not ready. And it's obvious since we have seen this story already than most people will think that the only possible explanation that she's getting pushed (because no other girl has been pushed like that so fast) because of her family connectiones. It's natural to be suspicious. But again, the problem with her is not that she has that connections, the problem is that she sucks at wrestling, which is natural at the moment.

Wrestling for a month ON TV. She's been in the PC for over a year and has wrestled tons of house show matches and it can be justified by the fact that her tv debut came after the same amount of time as Dana's, Carmella's and Alexa's, it's also taken longer than Gionna's who everybody seems smitten with who wrestled her first match in July. She fills a narrative void as an actual threat to Bayley. Smarks are so obsessed with who deserves what that they forget there's a story being told.

Does she deserve a TO match based on the amount of time she's been on tv? No. Does she deserve a TO match based on her experience/skill level? Why not, Dana got one at Respect. Does she deserve a TO match based on how the story is developing? Absolutely.

I don't hate the Samoans or seriously believe THE ROCK'S FAMILY GET PUSHES (I do believe nepotism gets people jobs) at all so it's nice Rocky is involved.

Not sure about his super positive act though tbh. Seems like that typical rich successful guy who thinks everyone can make it because he did, completely unaware of the ties he had among other things.

Anyway I do hope Nia Jax turns out to be good. I hope everyone does. For now she is shit and I will continue to say so until she isn't.

:shrug

My biggest issue with Nia since she debuted is that her presentation was slightly confusing for the first few weeks, but since last weeks show and having read the spoilers for the next few weeks it's been made a lot more obvious. Her in ring work is pretty much where I expected it to be and whilst she certainly has plenty of room for improvement, she is more than good enough to be on NXT TV and more importantly fits a void of a dominant looking diva. People may complain about her dominant booking but it wouldn't make sense to book her initial run any other way with her physical presence.

She's improving, and NXT is still a developmental show. I don't agree with her getting a title shot at one of NXT bigger events, but I guess they want to go that route because it looks like a David vs Goliath thing with her size. And who knows, maybe it'll actually be a fantastic match.

I had doubts on Baron Corbin, but ever since the tag title matches he was in, I've enjoyed him in the ring and on the mic. It just takes some time, and I can see potential in her.

Damn Rock e-stats her a whole +100lbs , now I'm not so sure if Rock is honest about his shoe size anymore.

The fact that he has named his gym the 'Iron Paradise' is so lame.

I'm not impressed by Nia so far but she's green so I'm not expecting a lot. The women need a monster to flesh out the division and she could fit the bill with some more development. A seal of approval from The Great One can't hurt. Although it didn't do much for Reigns or Eva in terms of hardcore fan support.

I'm a fan of Nia's presentation but she needs more work in the ring, but won't be too long.

Rock bigging up his cousin lol.

Greatness? That's shooting a bit high isn't it?

"The Rock praises his cousin that he is expected to put over regardless of her talent (lack thereof) in a similar situation to Roman Reigns".

I fixed that for you. The literal only redeeming feature of Nia Jax is that lifelong wrestler (and noted sweetheart) Becky Lynch is at least on friendly terms with her judging by Instagram. I'm told Roman Reigns is improving constantly based on his matches with Daniel Bryan and Cesaro, and I'm smart enough to realize that's all bullshit.

So sorry, I'm not going to accept that some obese Samoan that was hired for being tangentially related to the Rock is good enough to be wrestling for WWE, no matter how many impossibly nice wrestlers like Becky vouch for her, and especially not if her fucking cousin is the one shilling her as being totally ready for WWE you guys!! :punk2

Here's a relevant pic, granted being pictured with someone like Becky only accentuates how she's a fish out of water in the pond of WWE women :p

You sound like an asshole.

You aren't judging her by her talent or by her coach's evaluations but by her looks, relatives and who she's friends with on instagram?

Have you even seen her wrestle yet? If you did you saw enough in those 10 minutes to say that her only redeemable quality is Becky being her friend?

You trollin'.

I think she could actually beat Bayley for the title so we can build to Asuka vs Nia Jax, where Asuka slays the monster. We'll see. I want Bayley to have a longer reign and only be called up after Mania though.

She needs to continue to improve. Of course she's going to be a power house and use a power move set, that's not the problem. She needs to continue her presence, maybe take a more methodical approach in the ring. I don't mean this as an insult, she should watch some Yoko tapes. That's the style Id want to see her work. Slow, methodical, and still showcase her athletic ability. She's a real good prospect, however green she still is.
