I have watched some of his work, but am not too familiar with him. There is something about him that I do like and I guess it's that no one else looks like him. He has this "Arn Anderson" feel to him. Even though he isn't this physical freak, I still feel like he can put down his own. He looks like a tough guy, but in today's wrestling that may not really matter anymore. I can't wait for his NXT PPV television debut. I think he should carry the tough guy, Boston act. I like that he actually looks the part. Keeping my fingers crossed that this guy can cut a promo with the best of them, because he'll need to.
Biff Busick has been one of my favorite wrestlers for the past couple years, however I expect him to go the way of Chris Hero and Sami Callihan and just not fit in. I could be totally wrong though - I thought the same about Neville.
Of the most recent Indy signings (him,Swann,&Sombra) I'd say Biff has the least amount of potential. Not that bad of an insult, but not a good thing either. He can be solid though. If I was going for his "type" I would have just signed Ciampa or Timothy Thatcher.
I mean, if he plays the muscle in a group, then sure. Not too confident what Biff can do on his own. Loved watching him in PWG and disappointed he wasn't there longer.
Biff ain't playing the muscle in any group while in NXT or WWE any more than Dash Wilder or Scott Dawson are. I expect the wwe will try and bulk him up a bit as well, as he's a (comparatively) pretty skinny dude .
He looks really tough in the ring so he has that going for him. When I saw him wrestle before getting signed there weren't many opponents that were bigger than him and I think that really helped him. I like him a lot but I don't know what we can really expect out of him. I kind of hate to say it but I could easily see his peak on the main roster as being one of a henchmen in some heel group.
I like him, but on the Indies because he does not need to talk and his character has no real need to develop. I honestly think he will flop - he is the wrestling mans wrestler, but really question whether that can develop to the wider public.
I get that typically one would have to have some "size" to allow for one to think they are bad ass. However, even in real life it's not always the biggest person throwing the hardest punch, or putting in a nasty fight. This is sports entertainment. It's about creating an "image" and working the crowd to what that "image" created is actually about. Guys like Tully Blanchard, Meng, Kevin Sullivan, or Arn Anderson came off as no nonsense type guys. I think people need to remember that wrestling has had plenty of "smaller" guys come off as legit. I wonder what they'll change his name to?
