They better not fuck up La Sombra. I'm just curious as to what name he'll wind up with.

- As noted, WWE recently signed CMLL and NJPW star La Sombra (Manuel Alfonso Andrade Oropeza) and he's now training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.

It was reported back in the summer that WWE had interest in signing Sombra and now word is that he gave his notice to CMLL in August some time.

Several sources believe WWE has picked up a great talent in Sombra as he's known to be very professional. He carries a lot of pride but he's good at what he does and some feel he could be the top Latin star that WWE is looking for. Sombra has potential to be a big crossover star in the United States and speaks English well.

There's been no indication that he will wear a mask in WWE but "Dr. Lucha" Steve Sims recently noted on Wrestling Observer Live that Sombra may have more charisma without the mask. The feeling was that the mask made Sombra more generic and he had to work harder to overcome that.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio backed up the reports on Sombra's character, noting that he won't rub people backstage the wrong way and has a good chance at making it as a big star in WWE.

Great signing by WWE, I hope he's gonna go far.

I agree - if they make the right moves with him he could be a star as kids would love him.

I know there have been rumblings about it but they really should bring back the cruiserweight title/division. Think they bring back Rey Mysterio to help launch the division and Kalisto/Neville can take over.

Well, ADR doesn't care, Sin Cara stands no chance, and Kalisto, even though lacking in mic skills, has Rey Mysterio qualities in that he does have some charisma and ring presence that is over with the casuals.

If they were smart, they'd capitalize on Kalisto while's he's still reasonably young and at the top of his game and give him a push for a single's title to see how it goes.

Don't try and force a talent. Let La Sombra grow naturally and see where it goes from there first.

I don't think many people like the superstars that Vince/Hunter see a bright future in/see potential.

Doesn't mater how talented they might be, if they aren't over by just the IWC, they're a failed project.

La Sombra is good and very talented, this news pleases me.

Kalisto is too small. He doesn't have the 20 yrs+ history Rey Mysterio did of built up fan support that allowed them to look past his stature. Also peak Mysterio was a lot thicker than Kalisto, who is more the build of early Rey. And Rey spent the early portion of his career in the cruiserweight division where he could rack up wins and establish himself with believably. Kalisto doesn't have that avenue and hurts him considerably.
