Who would you pick from the main roster to undergo a career revitalization of sorts before being brought back on the main roster.
It worked wonders for Tyson Kidd yet not so much for Curtis Axel and Titus O' Neil when they just lost to the other talent on NXT.
But if they could be treated with ample opportunities - who would you pick.
I would choose:
Adam Rose And Brad Maddox - under their new team gimmick, merely to have it develop organically and perhaps gain a following.
Bo Dallas - who could come back after kayfabe blackmailing important figures to go back where he 'felt needed' and turn into a more villainous character as opposed to a comedy jobber.
Los Matadores - repackaged as Primo and Epico so they can build a good resume of matches and work on their character alongside other developing tag teams who could use the experience that the duo would bring.
Alicia Fox, since they do nothing of use with her on the main roster. She could at least make the new girls look good with her great ring ability, and she'd get more promo time by default.
Whatever those guys are doing are boring as fuck. Send them down to NXT and let them be sharks in a small pond instead of being shitcunts in a shitty pond.
1. Bellas. Let them get some better wrestling abilities, let them have a 3 month title reign each, then move them up to the main roster again.
2. Damien Sandow. The guy's doing nothing with himself right now on the main roster. He could do with a repackaging down in NXT.
3. Zack Ryder. Repackage him slightly and give him an NXT Championship run for 3 months then move him back to the main roster.
The worst of the worst has to be Rosa Mendes. However I am not going to pick her or Cameron for this thread because neither should even be in NXT, they both should not even be in the business, they are complete garbage at everything and the only ones who would disagree with that is the air heads from diva dirt that have not got a clue what a good female performer is.
So realistically I would pick
1. Curtis Axel. Nice enough guy but is still seriously lacking something, it is more a character overhaul or improvement to his present character that needs work.
2. Tamina. Is it just me or has she forgotten any wrestling she knew. Apart from a superkick she is sloppy and botchy as. A stint with Sara Del Rey would help.
3. Adam Rose. Revive Leo Kruger and come back in 6 months time.
Cody Rhodes - Guy would instantly become the top heel if creative give him some freedom and we know how bad NXT needs good heels right now.
Damian Sandow - He has a lot of tools to succeed, but he definitely needs a more "flashy" style of wrestling to stand out.
Bo Dallas - He is not even used on the main roster, but his age its a huge plus for a guy like him. He should go back to NXT and be repackaged as something else that can't be used as comedy jobber.
Heath Slater could do with a little reinvention like Tyson Kidd. It'd be nice to see him utilised in some way and being a whiny, annoying dickhead on NXT would be great for him. He's a good wrestler but nothing 'spectacular' so he won't get pops based on his wrestling skill, so he has a good chance of being a top heel like Kidd was for the first few months of his re-debut.
Brad Maddox should have been IC or US Champion by now at least twice, if not World Champion contendership, but he has been criminally misused for YEARS. He could do a character cross between Bo Dallas and Seth Rollins and be another interesting guy on NXT, face or heel. Not necessarily the guy who needs to be in the main event but just a guy on TV in a wrestling role. He definitely needs it though, only wrestling off TV must suck for him because he's not bad in the ring but no one knows.
I don't think anyone else would really benefit from a move to NXT.
Cena jokes aside I think he could use going down there to learn from the NXT women how to do the STF properly. You know, one of his finishers.
On a serious note, Sandow and bringing back the intellectual savior gimmick (still by far his best) to NXT would be gold even if he is just putting new talent over.
I am not going to count R-Truth as a part of my initial "3". The Reverend Truth comes out first with a new look and act. He wears all red all the time with black gator shoes. He says one day he woke up and realized he could change lives, but first those lives had to hear the truth. For several weeks Truth would talk about the first life he has saved and how he has put them on a path to success. Vignettes would begin to air about this changed man. R-Truth tells us that this man danced his way to failure and soon found the truth. R-Truth reveals this new man formerly known as Fandango ladies and gentlemen....
"The White Devil" Curtis De Leon
The whole bit relies mainly on Curtis De Leon being this "Cajun" who is bitter with the world and even talks down to R-Truth. R-Truth praises the "The White Devil". Curtis has to act like he is the coolest mother fucker on the planet, like his shit don't stink. R-Truth could things like wipe the sweat off of De Leon's head when he needs it. Perhaps R-Truth has tailor made suits for Curtis. The look is a huge part of the act and the WWE should stress on this. I want to hear church organs in his music. Take this as his song or entrance.
I'll pass on the guys who have outgrown developmental at this point (or don't need a full scale character reboot).
1. Brad Maddox (not technically on the main roster? I dunno. I'm counting him.)
2. Curtis Axel
3. Los Matadores
