I just wanna say if you like Balor you should keep supporting him, i like Balor and he probaly has the best entrance in WWE. this is not a bash but people call him "the future" and "total package" but i just dont see it.

I havent watch much of Balor/Devitt indy stuff(if you have any good ones plz show them) but in NXT he really hasnt show any personality or character aside the entrace. I think he's really bland and has a weird accent that sounds really geeky, for me hes just kinda normal and not really portraying a "larger then life" except when he wears the body paint

People say hes a great wrestler but even there he just kinda bland and normal I find it weird when he does his epic entrance were he crawls and walks backwards and shit, and then he's in the ring and he's just a normal dude again doing normal stuff and is not portaying his demon side anymore. his in-ring is good but his storytelling is meh.

So tell me is there something im missing about him, or is that all Balor can do.

I think what stands out for me is his charisma, his in-ring is good (sometimes bland but rarely) and he is meh on the mic but his character and his demon entrance is super cool pus the face paint, however I do believe that he could do some more regular moves and not aways moves pertaining a kick and he taunts a little more or do something different when he has on the face paint for example be more dangerous or something, because when he is wearing the paint, he is not very different from when he is not wearing paint, other than that i have no complains

I think he has incredible presence, with or without the paint, and he's really good in the ring. The paint and the idea that it isn't part of his everyday attire definitely makes his big matches feel special.

And he's got intrigue and a striking look. The only only thing I think you could knock him for is his mic work, but as I see it, it fits him. He's kind of quiet and introverted, and I think that really fits the dynamic of the character. Mild mannered and white meat babyfaced when it's just him, and given an edge when he needs to kick it up a gear.

One of my very favorite wrestlers is The Great Muta, who really had a similar character. He would wrestle as Keiji Mutoh (real name) and be a very doe-eyed, classic babyface. Piss him off, wait for a full moon, whatever and he becomes the demon Great Muta, who was much more heelish and unremorseful. That dichotomy between two opposing forces within the same character is really interesting to me, and screams larger than life.

I think the surface has barely been scratched and the ceiling is the moon for possibilities of feuds, storylines, and character evolution. He's over as all hell on NXT, and I take it as a sign of things to come.

This covers it, pretty much. That said, his moveset does seem to be heavily watered down in NXT, which is odd, when we consider that Owens' moveset is bottomless :draper2.

If they let him explain the demon more and give him promo class until he can play a tortured character it would benefit him the most I think.

Let's be honest he is not the next Cena. Reigns is. Does Vince or the people up the top who really matter, care about this kid. At the moment he is just some rookie from NXT who has yet to make it to the big leagues. Rollins, Reigns, Ambrose, Owens, Wyatt e.t.c. Are the only ones who can say they have.

nothing. hes just as overrated as kevin owens tbh.. but don't worry, the iwc will turn on BOTH of them just like they are turning on Rollins and amborse.

Nobody is turning on them. What happens is they have their hardcore fans who love them in the indies and post about them on here. The people who are currently hating on them have no opinion at that time as they haven't seen them so they have no reason to give hate. Then suddenly when they are on Raw many more people see their work and some people will not like them for whatever reason so post about it on here. The people who liked them in the first place still like them but there are now people who dislike them too. It really isn't difficult to understand.

This. He has that same aura in that he's just a normal guy people can relate to in the same way they do with Daniel Bryan but he also has the very cool paint and rockstar entrance which makes him extremely marketable, add the fact he's pretty good in the ring as well.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Balor get pushed to the moon on the main roster because unlike Bryan management actually seem to like him.

He just screams Vanilla to me. I think his entrance is the thing that makes him stand out the most. He's good in the ring at a time where there a LOADS of guys that are good in the ring. He's good looking chap, but he doesn't look very unique, he just looks like a model. And he's pants on the mic at the moment.

I think the absolute best thing to do with him is to just pump up the aggression levels to 1000x when he's the demon, almost make it out of his control like the Incredible Hulk. At the moment you just get all this talk about how the demon changes him, but then when he's the demon he wrestle exactly the same.

The huge appeal with Finn is the underdog thing. He's creative and that really connects with a lot of fans. The best thing about guys like him, Daniel Bryan, Jeff Hardy, and others is that they are entertaining and after you've been following them for a long time you want them to succeed and make their way to the top. He can put on a great match and he can win over a crowd. Is he the future of the company? Probably not. But can he have an amazing career nonetheless, I think so.

His abs

His entrance and paint will get him very over on the main roster, but he will have a limit to how far he can go without a character. It will help him just as the Red Arrow does to Nevile. Neither of those are special as anyone could do that but, right now, he is the only one doing it. I can list more things that are not special about him.

-His character, as it does not exist.

-His mic skills (granted we have not seen much from him).

-His wrestling style (why doesn't this change when he is "the demon").

-His look.

I am a fan of him, and I don't believe he is done evolving. When he really needs to expand his character beyond an indie guy and body paint I'm sure he will, but, as of right now, the only things separating him from Hideo Itami is nationality, better English and body paint.

I really like him, but he is such a boring babyface. And his special demon entrances have got boring too IMO. It was fun the first time @ R Evolution, but after that it has got meh. He is very good in the ring, but there are a lot of guys who are better.

He is a much better heel, and that's why I hope that he turns out to be the one who attacked Hideo and then they feud over the title & shit.

Nothing. Prince Devitt on the other hand was one cool bastard. He should turn heel and walk out in a black leather lightup jacket. Call himself Prince Balor and be the badass he once was. Fuck take that guy Mada from tough enough and make him his bouncer. He kinda looks like bad luck fale.

Alright, so i was going to bed after writing this so lets see.

I read them all and i think you guys like just like the dude himself. i saw the NXT special about him and he's kinda a quiet dude that plays with lego. you also talk about prescense and i think you only see that in his entrace.

And he's a great wrestler but we have plenty of great wrestlers so he's gotta give me something else to cheer for IMO.

LMAO every time one of these boring, bland, small wrestlers comes along the marks are all like "He's like Bryan!!!!", like being a boring, bland, small wrestler is what gets you over in the real world.
edit: Can't like Baron Corbin because of his "vibe", "aura", "presence" or "look" but you sure can like Balor for those reasons!
The difference is that Corbin actually has those things, he's big, imposing and looks like a killer. Balor looks like some dude that works in a bar.

There's no denying his entrance is second to none when he's pulling out all the stops. Even without makeup, it's better than most. I really like that he puts so much effort into his character. It's very refreshing. You can see he's really enjoying it, which is great.

However, in ring he's nowhere as good as his gimmick from what I have seen. I admid gladly that I didn't know about him untill I saw him in NXT. But I could say the same about KO, Sami Zayn or Neville. Those 3 blew me away with their in ring skills instantly.

This what not the case with Finn, even though his finisher is awesome. It's definitely a holy shit moment. Gets good height, legs subtracted totally, it's bloody good! The rest of his moveset is kinda boring imo.

But I do like him. He also generally seems like a nice and humble individual. My beef with his moveset won't stop him from being a major star. And I do wish him all the best. But I don't see the wrestling sensation other people do.

You are vindicated in your thought process. Balor HAS been pretty bland up until now. It seems that NXT is aware of that, so they're trying to give him a lot of spotlight and put more emphasis on the Demon, but he needs more than that. The paint and the Demon can't be his end all be all. He needs a more diverse moveset and more intensity. He needs to turn heel against Hideo and channel his inner Bullet Club persona. I want to see more of his Japanese moveset being allowed in NXT. Right now, everyone has every right to think he's a Vanilla Midget hiding under paint. The Tokyo show should change everything though.
