Ratings are pretty good. I would have rated the women's tag a bit higher and I liked Enzo's match more than Meltzer did. That 's fine. I don't live or die by his ratings anymore. Unstoppable truly was a very good show.
:what
I thought this one was really solid. 2 stars while Cena vs Rusev, which even by typical Cena overcoming the odds over newer star standards was weak as hell, gets 3 1/2, okay Dave...
I agree for the most part. I genuinely believe Corbin vs. Rhyno was better than Breeze vs. Balor. Their match was just boring and Balor's entrance was more memorable than anything that happened in the ring. Corbin and Rhyno generated excitement and gained respect for Corbin.
Even if there weren't botches, i wouldn't give it 5 stars. 4 1/2 would probably be fair if it was botch free. Nice to see people having this argument over a womens match though, the times they are a-changing.
Meltzer doesn't just rate the match bell to bell he includes the build, aftermath (Joe debuting), how much the wrestlers get the crowd involved etc.
I think people are over-rating sasha vs becky, it was good but not match of the year quality, personally I thought charlottes matches with sasha and especially nattie were better..flair killed it that night
If there was ever a diva's match that was 5 stars, Banks/Lynch was it. You had a good mix of power moves, chain wrestling, submissions, high-flying, great selling, crowd involvement. Watching it gave me the same feeling as Cena/Punk from MITB, that edge of your seat in anticipation feeling.
Main event was a solid dud because it made no fucking sense. It ended at like thirteen minutes or so in (according to Wikipedia and its reference(s)) but it should've ended way sooner because of the constant outside brawling and shit. It told a story, sure, but you're not going to give a match that technically ends before the half-way mark but just doesn't because the bell isn't rung a high star rating.
BAM v. Enzo & Big Cass was rated way low though, wtf.
I rated them better at my blog that you can see in my signature anyways. :evil

I rate it at ****1/4, so Melzter is not alone there. The match itself was better than their previous encounter at Rival, the finish was ok to me, I didn't see any crap whatsoever.
You realize Zayn was injured and couldn't bump right? Hence why he only took one bump the entire match and it was around 8 minutes?
It's pretty clear how the Owens/Zayn Saga was supposed to go. Match 1 was a slower paced, technical bout..This was going to be the all out brawl..And then a third match which would have been some sort of gimmick match. This was the all out brawl, it was just only 8 minutes because Zayn was hurt. And it was a really, REALLY good 8 minutes.
And why complain about officiating? There's plenty of times where officials use storyline discretion to not countout a match. One as personal as this one, the ref let it go..Happens all the time.
I'd have given the tag title match 3 stars, Enzo's getting better in the ring, and the match told a story and continued an interesting feud, with a new twist.
Womens title match i'd give 4 1/4 stars, hooked me in and kept my attention throughout, some of the bumps they took were pretty heavy and they told a story, and it got Becky over with the crowd as a babyface.
That Sasha/Becky match is no less than 4 and half stars... I originally thought it was 4 then watched it again. It's the best match in the WWE this year, period.
I think Sasha/Becky deserved better then ****. For some reason it feels like they only got that because its two women.
Honestly that match was the only match this year outside of Nakamura/Ibushi that had me on the edge of my seat then everytime you got two mainevent guys give an average match meltzer gives it 4 stars. Freaking Reigns vs Big Show at extreme rules got ****. Who in there right mind would say that match was as good as Sasha/Lynch? Not even Lesnar/Reigns at mania was as good and that got 4 and a half. Honestly this match was moty for wwe or atleast top 2 with the rumble triple threat. Natalya/Charlotte was awsome but this topped it. Meltzer cant see the difference between a great female match and an amazing female match though.
This match was 4,5 or even 4,75 imo. It was that good.
If you can walk into a crowd and get 50-60 % boos yet walk out to a standing ovation with zero boos you just did something special. This was the match Reigns needed but didnt have and I think that shitty match got a higher rating then Sasha/Becky.
I think those ratings are pretty fair. Based off my own personal enjoyment of the show I'd probs give the same ratings, but bump the main event up to 4, I loved it for what it was.
If Meltzer says one match is good or bad it doesn`t matter. At the end of the day he is a fan as all of us. I still remeber that he gave Orton vs Reigns at Sumerslam 4 stars. Sometimes he has strange criterias.
Looks about right to me, although I probably would've went a tiny bit higher on the tag title match and Sasha/Becky. Another outstanding show from NXT.
He must be an Owens/Zayn <ark... That was probably the worst overall match of the night. MAYBE better than the Corbin Rhyno match but that's not saying much.
I probably would have ranked sasha/becky a little higher, at least 4 1/4, but 4 is still good.
