Finally, someone who is familiar with the concept of giving the fans what they want

And that man's name is TRIPLE FUCKING H. And after NXT Unstoppable I'm thoroughly convinced.

It finally hit me when Joe debuted and the thought was profound. Hunter actually listens to the fans! Unlike Vince who says he listens but then pushes his own agenda.

People had an expectation on how this one was going to end and their expectations were met. No goofy swerves, no teasing the shit and not delivering like they would have done on RAW, none of that. People expected Joe and that's exactly what they got. Anything less and I wouldn't exactly say people would be disappointed because it was still a fantastic show, but maybe a bit dissatisfied. This was anything but. This was completely satisfying. This is how you feel after eating a good cooked meal. Full. That hit the spot.

These NXT specials just keep getting better and better and Hunter just keeps exceeding our expectations on fucking point. I thought it before when he brought in Balor and Itami, I thought it even more when he brought in Owens, and it's cemented in my mind now with the debut of Samoa Joe. Ask and you shall recive.
Totally opposite from the main roster mentality in everyway.

Basically I'm just surprised (even though I shouldn't be) that we didn't get some goofy swerve or dumb angle here instead of what was fully expected but I have to keep reminding myself that this isn't the main roster and Vince doesn't have his bipolar grubby hands all over the product.

Remember here that at his core Triple H is a wrestling fan, not a sports entertainment fan. It clearly shows in NXT, the show that he built. You can't even compare it to RAW, they're two completely different entities. NXT is purely a wrestling product, it doesn't try to be anything it's not. That's why it works so well. And it shows in your fanbase when all they have is nothing but praise for NXT and nothing but complaints for RAW. How can these two shows even be run by the same company?

It's going to be a good day when Trips takes over the 'E as long as he keeps his big nose in the back. Sometimes he just can't help himself when it comes to him and that :buried that's why I think :HHH2 is best utilized in the back on creative instead of being an on screen character. Yet I think he'd be smarter to bury his own guys since he has so much invested in them but I put nothing past :HHH2 and his :buried
Well see what the future holds but right now it's looking pretty bright with a bright wrestling mind ready to run it when the time comes.

Agreed with the OP, as much as he trolls the IWC on the product, he sure seems to have his finger on the pulse of wrestling fans.

Unfortunately, I don't think that it's Trips that you have to worry about, but rather Stephanie as she seems to be cut from a similar cloth as her dad. Furthermore, I've heard that it was her who has brought in the soap opera and hollywood writing talent.

The thing is, NXT (the so-called "wrestling show") packs more entertainment than the sports entertainment show it's intended to feed.

NXT is not purely a wrestling product, although it does do the wrestling part right. It also does episodic, story-driven narrative really well.

Seeing Hafþór "The Mountain" Björnsson at Unstoppable really cemented this fact in my mind. The storylines in NXT are continuous and always developing. They don't ignore continuity, they embrace it and use it to reinforce every new story arc.

The NXT Women's division is STILL the same story arc from when NXT first started. It's built on an often repeating, central narrative; "Become ruthless to become the best".

I really can't think of much that Raw does better than NXT. Probably the longer matches on a weekly basis, but that's about it. NXT doesn't really need long matches seeing as it's only one hour. One thing I really love about NXT is that they do a really good job at developing characters and making majority of the characters on the show feel like they matter.

It just shows anybody can be signed these days regardless of the look.

HHH is the last person in the universe who can run a company. NXT is smark pandering. Doesn't mean there's not some good stuff, but Samoa Joe debuting on RAW probably draws crickets. He's like the most prototypical indie guy there is.

If you honestly think HHH doesn't have a huge creative input over RAW and is a huge reason why the show is so terrible, then you are naive. He regularly exercises not giving the fans what they want, and has done so since he came into backstage power.

All the stupid sht that you KNOW HHH is behind such as him beating sting and boring us to tears with the trivial BS centered around he and his wife on RAW and then you ASSume he is the one making the calls at NXT solely as if one negates the other.

We know 100% he's the one making the BS calls fking things up on the main roster. We SPECULATE he is the one making the calls at NXT which I find unlikely. I am sure a much smaller panel is in charge of that. People with enough time to care about the IWC and indies which HHH is not one of them. I am sure he comes in, puts his blessing on it, takes credit for it then goes back to figuring out how to build his own brain on RAW.

I'm not sold on this being HHH and have no idea why anyone else would. NXT is good because it has a small panel that has more freedom with a smaller roster and dedicated time slot with limited feuds and few intangibles.

About 4 million people watch RAW every week. WWE is giving them enough of what they want to keep coming back. NXT is aimed at a different audience (smarkier indy fans). If you like NXT and don't like RAW, watch NXT - simple. Different people like different things.

Literally every single person who has walked through the doors at NXT says Triple H runs the show. There is pictorial evidence of Triple H physically running the show. There is a quarterly conference call with the wrestling media where Triple H talks about running the show. The NXT talent directly refer to Triple H running the show.

King BOOKAH is either a terrible troll or completely delusional.

Who gives a shit if he eats, sleeps, and breathes NXT on a daily basis? The title of this thread is absurd. Because putting on a simplistic indie show is "familiar with the concept of giving the fans what they want" when the guy it is referring to is KNOWN for doing the exact opposite of what the fans wanted, and forcing everything in his power to only get his way at the cost of the fans. But I forgot, he went on a podcast and threw his father in law under the bus while claiming everything successful in WWE and NXT is his idea. So that means he's a secret genius and not going to crash and burn when he inherits the company. HHH is a self-serving dipshit, who only does anything to benefit himself. He has always been this way, he has been a cancer since the 90s. Stop giving him credit for the fact that NXT's roster is talented and works THEIR asses off.

Wait so who are you supposed to listen to when 2 very vocal fanbases want the exact opposite thing and the less vocal casuals want a third? The IWC doesn't have the same opinion on everything and you can't please everyone, so which fans do you listen to?

Are we going to have this thread every time nxt takeovers happen? Yes nxt is good but it's a niche market on a niche network that doesn't need to worry about sponsors and just revenue to stay afloat. It's a different animal to raw or smackdown. The triple h felating is getting as tiresome as the so and so isn't entertaining threads. The fact hunter excels producing a wrestling show that doesn't cater to the WWE as a whole demographic of children and families isn't that impressive. If hunter can make the main shows as entertaining as nxt then I will give him full praise.

Wow things are so black and white here. Either HHH is a genius who gives the fans what he wants or he's a politicking shitheel putting himself over at every opportunity. The fact is he's a bit of both and the evidence is ample. Does HHH give the fans what they want? Sure if you want one of his guys. It just so happens that his guys are currently doing great things Shield, Wyatt family, Kidd and Cesaro, Xavier Woods and Big E, Paige, Lucha Dragons, Neville, Zayn, Owens have all been very positive additions to Raw. He's also the guy behind Ascension, Adam Rose, Emma, Curtis Axel, Bo Dallas. He also buried Sting and is the reason the Authority has been the focus of 70% of the show over the last 2 years and last but not least: he's the man singlehandedly responsible for the guy you all love to hate, Roman Reigns.

I'm just not sure there's enough evidence that he's going to magically fix Raw, will he improve it? Undoubtedly. Will it be exactly what fans want? Never.
