Ppl, I'd hate to be the one to say it but you all need a dose of truth: the NXT women's division is severely overated. They have 4 really good divas, Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Bailey, and Becky Lynch. Besides that who else? Alexa Bliss is green, Dana is really green, Carmella is green, who else do they have? Really? It's just a perception that the women's division is good (because it has been in the past when you had more women like Paige, Emma, Summer Rae and Natalya there as well) and perception is reality. The perception is that the main roster divas suck but thats not entirely true. Naomi is very talented. The Bella's have improved tenfold from years past. Alicia Fox is a very underrated and puts on good matches as shown when she had some on NXT. Emma didn't suck in NXT, so how all of a sudden did she get worse? She didnt. Same thing with Summer Rae, she didn't magically start sucking when she hit the main roster. Its the perception of the divas division as a whole. Cameron is bad and Rosa is really bad. That's it.
Honestly this whole NXT divas praise is just bandwagon talk. There's four good girls and the division was once better than it is now. Once they get called up its over. And you all are still going to be talking how the main roster divas suck even though all your NXT darlings have been called up. The Divas don't suck, the booking does.
Triple H has gone on record stating he wants more for the divas division. Who runs NXT? Exactly. Longer matches, storylines and angles, it's clear that they put a higher priority on women's wrestling in NXT than Raw/Smackdown does with the main roster divas. And this is all you need to build a perception that the NXT divas are better, because their matches/segments feel like an important part of the show. Its not about the divas, it's about the booking. Its not about the reality of the situation, just perception.
Honestly expected something 100% different from the thread title. But you are totally right though with all this, especially on Summer Rae. Main roster women prob wont get that sorta time as long as the current captain is running things.
I would take the four NXT top women over most of the women on the main roster.. Nikki really improved, Paige is good, Alicia is underrated as you say but then you still have Cameron and Rosa and it evens out. I'm also not a fan of Naomi as heel or an actual worker. she's quite sloppy.
I don't think if you had the top four main roster divas, threw them in match, gave them the same amount of time, they would have as a good of a match as the four NXT girls had. Nope.
Having said all this, the the time and focus to the NXT women's division continues to trump the main roster in every way.
That is more important to me than the actual workers..
Lol for a good while those four were the division. Up until the fatal four way the only others that even had more than one match were Bliss and Carmella with like... three or four matches each. Literally jobbers at that point.
The division was never better than it was at the peak a couple months ago. Back then they had an even more limited division and a bigger reliance on main roster talent to come down and work with their women.
I don't think you know what you're talking about mate.
P.S. You said Dana is more green than Bliss, who is easily the worst worker on NXT right now man or woman. :kobe
Those four are obviously all great in the ring, but I haven't seen anything good from them mic wise. Bayley in particular is among the worst talkers I've ever seen.
To call the NXT divas overrated is a complete insult to those girls who put on amazing matches all the time. A good match is a good match, it doesn't matter where it's being televised or how much time you're given. WWE has given Nikki Bella numerous chances to have 16 plus minute matches with Paige and Aj and all those matches are forgettable, who's fault is that? They had the time, did the booker sabotage the match? Lol. Being in NXT doesn't make the matches better, the talent that's there is what makes those matches great. And when the four more popular girls(Sasha,Charlotte,Bayley, and Becky) get called up, HHH will just replace them with new indie girls and girls like Alexa, Dana, and Carmella will have to step their game up as well. I think you're under the impression that after the four girls leave the division, the Division will lose popularity and I think you fail to realize how many talented girls on the indies are ready to be signed any day now, they signed three indie girls like 3 weeks ago. So the NXT women's division will continue even after Sasha, Bayley, Charlotte and Becky leave. That's kind of how it's always worked in wrestling. Stone Cold retires and Rock/Cena take over, so on and so forth.
It's important to note that the matches these NXT girls put on every week would be praised anywhere, this is not just fans praising the matches because they're doing more moves than the main roster girls, these girls bust their asses. Nothing overrated about the NXT women's division. I watch those specials and I'm genuinely enthralled more for the women's matches than the men. If you think the NXT women's division will die after the four more popular girls leave, that's just your perception.
When put in the ring with someone she didn't rehearse a match with at the Performance Center endlessly in the returns are much, much less.

I don't think it's the fact that the four main NXT Divas are better (they are), but it's mostly the fact that they are given storylines that makes sense, character motivations beyond "BITCHES BE CRAZY!" and they are treated as credible threats at all times whereas the WWE Divas are forgotten about unless they are the champ or the one girl who gets TV time for the month.
To be fair, having four solid talents making up the brunt of your division is pretty good:lol The Tag division would kill for half that. Plus, Emma's back
The match with Naomi was ok. Nothing special, and a couple awkward moments. Charlotte is much better as a heel; a less crazy Alicia Fox in a lot of ways. More varied as well, but I digress. Naomi didn't have much for me, and it's uncomfortable watching her play heel. Why do all the black women gotta be the baddies, huh?
Also, nerves and other excuses. It wasn't bad, but expected more. Also doesn't take away from her run as champ, which was excellent.
The long matches on Raw after the givedivasachance stuff were mostly mediocre to bad. AJ and Nikki had a worse match than Carmella and Alexa(two girls with barely 3 years experience between the two).
There isn't two women on the main roster that could have the matches Charlotte and Sasha have had. I've always found Paige to be overrated. She had a great match with Emma at NXT Arrival, and then what? Just a bunch of mediocre matches, and they gave Paige and AJ plenty of chances to do something.
Bayley works better sub 5 minute matches on NXT tv than any diva matches on the main roster.
I think the strength of the NXT Divas division is that they treat the belt as something prestigious and the divas isn't used as a joke or filler. The girls outside of the 4 you listed will be brought up to the standard of Sasha, Charlotte, Bayley and Becky because they have something to fight for.
Maybe they are a little overated. It's just that the NXT women are being booked as a competitive division rather than a side attraction and people are enjoying it.
Why do people keep running with this myth. Robbie Brooke and Norman Smiley train the women too. They are pictured with them more than Sara. Sara isn't even a full time trainer anymore. Also the women themselves deserve credit.
What is materially different in how Becky wrestles now versus 2007?
NXT as a whole is overrated, there's only 8-10 people that the IWC gives a crap about and if anybody else gets tv time before they're capable of putting on 4* matches then you get threads saying they're awful and shouldn't be on tv.
If they called up the rest of the NXT 5, Sasha, Becky, Zo and Cass the NXT hype would decrease by about 90%. I doubt any of the indy lovers would watch a Jason Jordan / Bull Dempsey main event.
I think I'd still enjoy NXT if you removed the top 10 guys right now. Personally, I just enjoy the format of the show. 1 hour is the perfect length. The storylines are logical and there's actually continuity. I think NXT, as it is, is pretty plug n' play.
Once they get called up its over. And you all are still going to be talking how the main roster divas suck even though all your NXT darlings have been called up. The Divas don't suck, the booking does.
I don't think anyone shits on the talent of most of the main roster divas. It's just at a stage where they've been stagnant so long, it would be a struggle to get people to invest in them.
