There were six WWE NXT releases today. On top of the aforementioned C. Denzel Freeman and Tony Briggs, also released from their WWE deals today were:
*Courtney Freeman - Former amateur wrestler from The University of the Cumberlands. He had signed with WWE out of college and had been training at the Performance Center about a year, to the best of my research.
*Dustin Mueller - A Chicago native with a bodybuilding background, Mueller was signed in late 2014 to train at the Performance Center.
*Leyvonna Zakari - A California actress and model, Zakari signed in April 2014 to train at the Performance Center.
*Laszlo Vandracsek - Originally born in Hungary but living in Phoenix, Vandracsek was a former Olympic Bobsledder. He was recruited and signed to WWE in late 2014, to the best of my knowledge.
None of the four had competed in the ring at NXT events.
Dirtsheets are so fucking stupid, how did they not realize that Courtney Freeman and C. Denzel Freeman are the same person?
I saw potential in Mueller, the others were duds. Never even heard of the Hungarian. @elhijodelbodallas will be disappointed that his boy Cannonball was released.
At least Dillinger is still around. Not for much longer, I expect. I don't know why them not giving him a chance has had such a huge effect on me, but it's honestly soured me on NXT quite a bit atm.

Dillinger will be fine, he's on every house show and TBH in a pretty good position compared to a lot of guys. I want him to get more screen time on the TV show but that's not going to happen with the BIG FIVE around.
Pretty much. Tye is essentially a coach/trainer. He is a veteran there to teach the Kalistos and Itamis WWE style in their initial matches in NXT. He was hired as a favour to Dusty Rhodes as Tye was so selfless in getting Cody Rhodes over in OVW and ready for WWE. If you thought Tye was on the cut list then you simply don't know what's going on. There's dozens and dozens of green wrestlers in NXT and Tye is there to teach/carry them in the ring.
In terms of main roster chances I keep an open mind but he's 34. Unless you come into NXT will a lot of steam or a pedigree WWE considers you too old to be called up if you are male and aged 30.
There are a few here who have left very quickly. Probably became clear to both sides that the life of a NXT or main roster worker did not suit. Another fairly new recruit (James Jensen) got released earlier this year too.
Some have been there a bit longer (Briggs) and I guess they got past that hurdle but the trainers did not see enough potential. He was never going to be a main eventer but I could see a role for him. Never had a chance to show what he could do at live shows while some others have actually proved that they are crap.
Ah cmon. Guy could have been a major player and he,s extremly young aswell. Had a really nice personality. Such a loss for nxt since he was one of the guys I predicted carrying nxt when the nxt 5 are called up. 23 years old I think so theres def time in the future for a comeback and he will take over the indyscene in the meantime.
NXT guys are hired cheap in large numbers with the bait of a main roster contract to attract them. One or two work out, that's enough. They tend to get fired in large numbers too. 70 people even on $25K is still significant money
Not familiar with any of the people released but I never like to hear about developmental talent getting released unless they asked out. Never know when youre going to get a Bo Dallas or a Tyler Breeze out of some of the lesser appreciated guys.
Have to figure the Windy City Mutant guy was homesick or something or realized he could make more money slinging supplements than being in developmental for 2-3 years. I mean even if he was a slow as hell learner, you wouldn't cut the guy after what 3-4 months of training.
Brian Reid is the only guy who even appeared on NXT programming as a jobber, and worked some house shows - though again as fodder.
yeah, I guess there was mutual agreement that the life of a NXT or WWE wrestler wasn't for them and parted ways. In terms of athleticism/ability, there's not much you'd find out after 3 months than what you saw in a 3 day tryout. But that's a hit I guess NXT is OK with taking. Hire enough guys and sooner or later, one will come through as a real talent.
A bit surprised Briggs was released. I thought he had enough for a run at least on the Network.
It's getting pretty tough for the development talent now.
No way Stowman is going any time soon. Still injured and before that they gave him quite a build-up on the house shows. a few promos then a match. Not the almost anonymous jobber role that Briggs got
