CJ Parker was released from his WWE NXT deal this past Saturday. I am told Parker requested his release and it was granted on amicable terms.
In fact, the parting was so amicable that WWE allowed him to wrestle on the Saturday and Sunday AXXESS sessions to finish him out.
Parker, originally trained by ROH star Truth Martini, signed a WWE developmental deal in 2011. He had been a regular on the NXT series, most recently as an environmental activist heel.
Parker was working at Axxess (and winning matches) over the weekend, tweeting about last night's Raw and his Instagram has pictures with Owens and Dempsey from just a couple of hours ago. I'll wait for a more credible source TBH.
Nah, in all seriousness, he did his heel jobber role perfectly well but it was obvious he was never going to advance past that role. Fair play to him. I guess the door is always open if he wants to reconsider in the future.
I assume he wanted a better spot on the roster and they didn't have plans for him to be anything more than a pesky heel enhancement talent. Before I got on Wrestlingforum I was checking another site and the headline read "NXT Star Released" and I immediately thought CJ Parker.
Hopefully he finds some work elsewhere. He's a good talent with some untapped potential. I like that the split was amicable as that leaves the door open for him at some point to return if he so chooses.
He was a jobber, but a damn good one. I thought he had potential on the main roster in a Heath Slater role (say what you will, that guy has a job for life) but I guess he wanted more in his career.
I liked him better than Adam Rose, Big E, Xavier Woods, Heath Slater and any other jobbers they've got on the amin roster. He had a character, is what 6'3 / 6'4 and could draw heat... and his theme music was awesome.

Hope he goes on to better, meaningful matches and can rebuild (or create a fresh) persona as he has the skillset just was never seen past jobber status
Sounds like he wanted out, so good on him. I don't think they were ever going to do anything meaningful with him anyway.
