NXT TAKEOVER – LIVE! – AIRS MONTHLY ON WEDNESDAYS
The future is here. WWE’s hottest up-and-coming Superstars compete to prove they’ve got what it takes. More than just evolution, it’s a revolution! Witness these WWE Superstars of tomorrow as they take over WWE Network with live two-hour specials.
Ehh. I like the way they do it now. I feel like with a monthly ppv-style show they're gonna need more time to build to these specials, which probably means they're gonna have to extend the hour shows to give each feud a decent build.
It could work, but it seems a step away from one of the things people love about NXT, which is that it leaves you wanting more.
I'm fine with it. It also give the talent a chance to perform live more which should help them prepare for RAW with that added pressure of not being able to edit out your mistakes. Plus, I will be spoiled less by weeks worth of tapings.
Defo a 50/50 call. On one side seeing more guys get on the NXT live shows would be great but part of me feels if they HAD to make a change they should have just made the live special 3 hours rather than 2 and keep it at 4 a year. 12 a year just seems to take away NXT's uniqueness and could force them to fold on storylines quicker.
Part of what makes the specials so, uh, special, is that we don't get them as frequently.
And if they got locked into that formula of having to have all the titles defended on every Takeover, then everything will fold up quicker and they'll burn through everything and that will be bad.
I'm not sure if this is a good idea. Sounds like they're trying to make it like they have on the main roster by having a PPV-type of Event a month. However, the problem I see with that is NXT only has an hour of TV time a week, so is that really going to be enough time to build up a big even each month? I'm not sure it will.
Doesn't have to be a bad thing if they don't feel they have to rush their big storylines, just give others a chance during the two hours and pace out the title matches and it should work.
As of now: for every three or four hours of TV shows, there will be a two-hour special.
Wonder if they do longer TV shows too.
