Becky Lynch: Submission Specialist

First it was an innovative leg submission that I don't even know what to call and then it was a vicious looking armbar this week. Lynch has shown over the past number of weeks that she can take advantage of any injury or opportunity and has a litany of submission holds to take advantage.

Now I've seen nothing of her as Rebecca Knox. So if any of you were fans of her before WWE please forgive me if I didn't know all this already.

But I go back to submission specialist. This should be her gimmick. Don't give her a true finisher. Let her win her matches with a variety of submission moves to build her up as a dangerous competitor that can beat you in a multiple of ways. You can keep the head banging because I love how much Corey Graves despises it.

Would be interesting, certainly a damn site more than what her character has been (spunky headbanger?). I think she has improved a lot recently in terms of wrestling, why not tweak her character at the same time.

Submissions are already much more popular in women's wrestling in WWE. It feels like Divas can only be 'ferocious' (according to bookers) if they use submissions all the time and attack damaged body parts.

It's not a bad idea but too many divas have done this shtick and most of the time they don't do it very well anyway. Submissions are fine when there's a lack, but when there's a lot, it's worse than a lot of strike finishers, or a lot of grapple finishers. Submissions are harder to stand out and too many get boring quicker, so if they want to have a lot of submissions they have to do it right.

but she has to find a sole finisher to finish girls off with
Why?

Although I love submission finishers, there really are too much right now. There are too many women/divas with a submission finisher.

AJ - Black Widow
Natalya - Sharpshooter
Paige - PTO/Scorpion Crosslock
Charlotte - Figure Four (sort of)
Sasha Banks - Bank Statement

Although this list doesn't seem that long, these women are the ones usually in the bigger women's matches, therefore we see them more often. Everything needs balance, and we haven't, or don't really see other women win matches, so we don't see a good balance at the moment. Using submissions to wear down opinion, sure, but as a finisher no. She needs a big hitting finisher to match the power suplexes she has shown.

First of all Becky is an awesome in ring competitor, second: ignore whatever comentators are saying because a)they doing a kayfabe commentaries of whatever WWE officials tells them to say b)most of wwe commentators (not all of them, tho) suck.

Becky is great in the ring. She's a little goofy but tweaking her character to accomodate that goofiness would go a long way. She could be the unintentionaly cringey heel. As for the OP's idea about her winning matches with a variety of submissions, I like it. It'd establish her as a threat.

So pumped for the Irish talent coming up. :grin2:
