So far we seen Rhyno and The Brian Kendrick back in NXT I am very excited for Kendrick as he was one of my favorites now I understand their job is to put talents over and I have no problem with that is there any other former talent you'd like to see back?
I'd like to see Taka Michinoku back for a feud with Itami I know Taka is in his fourties but he can still go in the ring and feud with Itami on NXT would be awesome that and he could put a classic with him and put Itami over.
I'd also like to see the Dudley's they can help and do wonders with the rookies putting them over as well.
My thoughts exactly. I mean, the show begins with " The Future is Now ". Why do you need them ? They bring nothing to the show. NXT have too much wrestlers to showcase all of them in one show and you want old talents to steal the Main-Event spot ? Just plain stupid
I don't actually like the way this is going bringing in former WWE talents like Kendrick in (really?)
Sure bring a couple in if you want but if it continues with more and more then NXT is soon going to feel quite watered down soon with all these random appearances.
They don't need them, they have enough talent there already.
Is Finlay back with the company as an agent? Even in his 50s I bet he could still go in the ring. Finlay would be an excellent teacher for the young talent to learn another lesson in toughness, how to work psychology into the story he is attempting to tell, and overall how to properly structure a good wrestling match.
Isn't he still in NJPW? Anyway I would love to see WWE get him back and work with some of NXT's top talents. He was incredible in the ring. I would take him on the main roster but then again, he would probably just be a jobber on there.
Brian Kendrick looked good and it was cool seeing Rhino, but I hope they don't bring in any more former WWE guys. The NXT roster has some very talented wrestlers, and appearing the NXT program is invaluable to guys like Baron Corbin, who need more experience in every area they can get.
There could be some very cool matches between former WWE guys and some of the current NXT roster, but I'd rather they stay the course and continue to let the developmental guys flourish than bring in any more former WWE stars.
There's really not room unless they move two hours, which I have championed for a couple of months now. The roster is strong enough to do that. Neville, Owens, Zayn, Balor, Itami, Crowe, Kendrick, Rhyno, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Becky Lynch, that's just a flavor. There's still more guys and gals to be called up to NXT and signings in the pipeline so the potential is there imo.
Rhino and Kendrick are not going to be moving to the main roster, they are just in NXT as guest trainers for a few weeks according to Meltzer. He said they often have guest trainers in for only a few weeks at a time, but they will get them in over the time the TV tapings are shot so it appears they are there for months.
But like some others said, if older wrestlers are getting trained and run through an NXT system designed for rookies and development, them I'm not for it. If a former wrestler (not Rhino or Kendrick) need developmental training, then that's first embarrassing. Second, if they don't need training, then I don't care to see them for more than a few weeks. Like when RVD, Cesaro, Titus, etc showed up on NXT. One or two matches, just to put someone over. etc.
Can't wait till they hire CM Punk and put him through developmental.
I know that Brian Kendrick will most likely stay in developmental to put over talents, like OP said, but I really wish he would be put on the main roster!

He's so good! Please, give him another chance!

This is nothing new. In the OVW days, established talent would work OVW shows. Usually it would be from the main roster but it would happen. I think virtually anybody under 45 that is or was an established name and still in good shape is a possibility.
Seeing as I already mentioned being mega happy to see Kendrick make an appearance, my being pro bringing in experienced workers is obvious. While I wouldn’t want them taking over the show, and I don’t see NXT as a stepping stone back to the main roster for every former talent who drops in, I think it benefits the NXT regulars to work with a variety of folks who’ve done the rounds with RAW and Smackdown in the last few years.
There is an aspect of using these guest trainers as attractions that irks me a bit though. I know why it makes sense but there’s still that little fear that they’ll take over the main events too often if this becomes a regular thing.
This is now going way too far. Bringing in Kidd was a massive success and he and NXT came out stronger but creative are now flogging this idea too much. Kidd showed that the NXT talent could work at the same level as an active main roster guy and both NXT's and Kidd's profiles were improved. Doing this with other active main roster guys from time to time will also work.
Bringing in ex-talent like Kendrick for tapings takes up time that the NXT roster would be better off using. Sure, they are great and have a lot to teach and they can do that at the PC but being the upper card on tv shows? No
NXT needs to keep some focus. It has already gone from development school to an all-star promotion for the best indy/Japanese stars. Now a special guest show for former stars?
Are Rhyno and Kendrick going to work house shows with the NXT brand? I see they were both added to the NXT roster page.
I do agree that NXT should go to two hours or even 90 minutes if they're bringing in vets on a permanent basis. It is a developmental afterall, eventhough HHH seems to want to make it a third touring "brand".

But you can´t develop without having a few guys who knows how the machine works, and many of the NXT wrestlers know how to run the ropes already, they just need to get used to the "WWE style"
As long as the old talent stays on NXT, and not suddenly start hogging the titles, I think it´s a brilliant idea to bring in some of them
if they got all the money to bring in so much talent then why not do the brand split again and just let triple h and whoever is working behind the scenes with him take over smackdown
A 2 hour show is not the answer. One of the fantastic things about NXT is the short, hard-hitting action. 2 hours is going down the route of slower RAW type shows. NXT needs to stay focused on what makes it distinctive and good
